Tomorrow I go to my last Mosaic Stadium game with the unique Canadian field I cherished & loved for my 62 years. I was angered, then saddened by why and how the CFL did its "modernization" project, now I am numb. The relationship has changed & I know others feeling the same.

My CFL long story published in the Regina Leader Post and the Saskatoon Star Phoenix today examines the tension between a league pushing profound change to the game and rules and the fans resisting it. It suggests there was a third and better way. I hope you can read it.

Just had someone (a big city resident) tell me online that while he was a "proud Canadian", he thought the CFL was a "joke" and a "pick-up" league. Perhaps that tells us as much about the division in our country as much as any political issue out there. #cfl #Canada

I dislike that the challenge of increasing offence in the CFL has been framed as a choice between 3 and 4 downs. There are many potential tools to increase offence without touching downs.
