RIP FM Dwin. To the very last generous with his time and giving advice to ensure that the Regiment he loved flourished and that Riflemen pursued his exacting standards. Swift and Bold

I handed over Joint Forces Command (and this Twitter account) to General Patrick Sanders at 1815 tonight after 3 wonderful years. Supported by the amazing people of #JFC, his success is assured. You can find me @chris_deverell from henceforth. #sayonara

Going to miss this. A carpet of wild garlic in the wood behind our house. Nothing but birdsong in the background

“What is civilisation? I don’t know. I can’t define it in abstract terms, yet. But I think I can recognise it when I see it.” Turning to Notre Dame, Clarke added: “And I’m looking at it now.”

After the attack in Salisbury a year ago, we turned to the Armed Forces and expert scientists. Britain and her allies have demonstrated that they will take a stand against the use of chemical weapons. I want to thank those who worked so tirelessly in the aftermath of the attack.
I hope that moving forward Salisbury will once again be known for being a beautiful, welcoming English city and not for the events of 4 March 2018. gov.uk/government/news/pm-st…

I’ve been following defence for my whole life. Bar the @DailyMailUK labelling my grandfather as “a mad fool”, no article has ever upset me more than this. It’s utterly horrible. – at Portsmouth, England

With the inimitable Wee Stu Atha for a fabulous RAF send off at RAF Coningsby. Showing the RAF what Dress Code Red should be! An utter privilege to be included in celebrating such an amazing and distinguished career
