I am going to train today and each day for the next 19 weeks so I can have the fitness to qualify for Boston. I don't have that fitness currently, so my workout today will not discourage me. #bqchat #marathontraining
Anyone got recommendations for headlamp for running at night? Been a while since I needed one or is the cheapo stuff at store ok? #bqchat
Playing catchup with @HankFrank now if @ChiMarathon will just select my name in the lotto…

Moonlight reflected off the Amazon river. At the proper angles in our orbit, we aboard @Space_Station can see brief silvery flashes atop water surfaces, illuminating even the darkest places on Earth.

Vinny Mauri is the real deal. In the age of optimizing bros, he is the peak nonchalantmaxxer.
Nontraditional training approach, doesn’t care about the status quo, talks his shit, and currently 7th in Chicago right now pacing a 2:05.
Might have to keep an eye on this guy.

Stop trying to prove fitness, and start trying to do what is best to get you to the starting line fit, healthy, and ready to go.
The need to prove oneself comes from insecurity. It’s a lack of trust in the plan and the process.
10000000% this. Also make sure it has red dot finder/telrad for easy pointing. Very cheap upgrade and results in a good experience.

Get an 8” dobsonian. Brand doesn’t matter. Not crazy expensive and a good sweet spot with size/usability.

We are one week out from Hungerford 2026, and the weather forecast is looking GREAT this week. Some rain mid week to tamp down the power lines ‘sand,’ and then sunny and 70° projected on race day! Bring it!

Learning about meteorites in a wind tunnel:
1. a rock hits Earth's air, forms a shockwave, heats into a visibly glowing 'shooting star'
2. gets hot enough to start melting the rock itself, often spinning, spewing droplets
3. as the air thickens, the rock often breaks up, visibly flaring
4. the air cools it all enough to stop melting & glowing, rocks end up with a melted crust
5. hits Earth as lumps, or as falling bits and dust

Here is a stabilized look at @SpaceX Starship engine shutdown as seen from my telescope as the vehicle flew south of Florida minutes after launching from Texas during IFT-11!
