Around the Port this week, vessel moves, multiple 100 tonne block deliveries to the Plymouth Breakwater to keep us all safe and dredging operations underway to maintain vessel access and berthing. #plymouth #cattewater

Evening tanker swap over on a calm, sunny evening. Stamford (ORC 121) coming alongside between escort tug Amy Jane and outbound Sten Nordica to take the pilot off. No drama, just a capable boat/crew in their element, ensuring pilot safety at all times. @PolruanPilot @PlymCatte

Busy 48 hrs for the @PlymCatte Harbour Ops team. Todaythe salvage of a sunken yacht and recovery to shore for disposal. We have supported degaussing cable recovery works in Plymouth Sound yesterday and also provided towage for a jack-up barge. Great demonstration of versatility.

Absolute pleasure to be part of Lord Coaker’s visit today, fantastic news for the city and the future.
Huge news for Plymouth! Today, Lord Coaker confirmed a £50 million bespoke growth deal for our city. From the National Centre for Marine Autonomy to this new investment, this Labour Government is delivering on its promise to back our Dockyard and our city. Huge win for Plymouth

It’s sure been a fantastic week 😊
A week around the Port. So much happening. Heavy lift project cargo, Jack up Barges, 20 pilotage moves, Amy Jane dredging in Padstow, project Emma launch, @turntostarboard tall ships on the BLS, and a first for Plymouth with the first ever arrival of Wheat imported into the city.

After an 0230 start, the marine and pilotage teams kept operations moving overnight, sailing the Atlantic Wind, berthing Superiority and Skylift 2, and supporting tug CT Prenton. All rounded off by a beautiful sunrise over the port. Supporting Plymouth and the wider SW peninsula.

Changeable weather viewed from the office window this afternoon.

Very cold start to the day afloat but saw this. Sea smoke is a type of fog, also called steam fog, that forms when extremely cold air moves over much warmer water, causing moisture to rapidly evaporate, rise, and condense into visible mist or fog, creating smoke-like plumes.

Cracking sunrise this morning whilst providing towage support to an inbound tanker. A few welcome visitors popped over to say hello too. Lovely start to the day…

A trip down memory lane today sorting out sinking boats, hopefully saved the owner from a bigger bill along the way too.

Beautiful summers morning today, full moon to help us out first off and then a cracking sunrise, a tanker berthed and cement ship sailed all before breakfast 😊

Plenty of shipping in Plymouth yesterday – 6 commercial moves in and out of the Cattewater. Highlights included super yacht Shinkai arriving into the Barbican Landing Stage for a city visit, while Vertom Patty and Hybrid vessel Terramar departed fully loaded for 🇪🇬 & 🇫🇮 #plymouth

Fantastic to be able to offer the ship an alongside berth right in the heart of #Plymouth’s historic Barbican allowing guests to enjoy all that it has to offer.
The enchanting sound of a Piper echoed around the Cattewater & Barbican yesterday evening as the Hebridean Princess departed the Barbican Landing Stage. Hundreds stopped to observe this special moment. The Pipes could still be heard as she sailed into the Sound #plymouth
