The older I get, the more my understanding of love changes. I no longer need someone to promise me forever or swear they’ll never leave. I know life is unpredictable, and I don’t want a relationship built on unrealistic promises. I want something honest, something two people actively choose to nurture. Physical attraction has never meant as much to me as loyalty, genuine attention, and emotional availability. I want someone who is comfortable being real with me, even when the truth isn’t pretty. Someone I can talk to for hours without feeling ignored, unwanted, or like I’m forcing a connection that should come naturally. I want someone who genuinely wants to know how my day went, looks forward to spending time with me, and doesn’t make me feel foolish for enjoying their company. Someone who can admit that they like having me around instead of keeping me guessing about their intentions. I’m no longer interested in playing games or trying to prove that I’m worth choosing. I’ve learned that I am already a complete person, and my identity doesn’t depend on being loved by someone else. But if being with you makes me feel happier, stronger, and more capable of becoming the person I want to be, then I want you in my life. I don’t need you to complete me. I want you because sharing my life with you is something I genuinely desire.
