No KOL is going to randomly boost you. You are boosting them by engaging. Support the accounts that respond. Support the small accounts that reach out. Support conversation.

RUG PULLS are unpleasant. They make you feel stupid, taken advantage of and small. Asking questions, sticking to a trading plan and taking your initials the moment you can are all part of mitigating against rug pulls. Lots of small gains through smart trading will ALWAYS WIN.

You can tell what the new X algorithm meta is. Just follow a couple of KOL's a notice they are all posting the same thing: "Engage with me and I will boost you" The follower count no longer matters. Engagement does and now small accounts can win.
