Apple decided to ban Google fonts with “cross tracking protection” which broke our site for the days silently.
We've moved almost all clients to the new hardware - faster and with more capacity. Now resume, start, and stop of the computers will happen significantly faster and more stably. If before it could range from half a second to sometimes ten seconds, now within a second.
A new Claude Opus 5.5 model added to Playcode.ai as a default. It is smarter than opus 5, yet feels more expensive. Will see.

459k sites, 525k unique files, 21 GB. One file, one copy - identical assets across sites are stored once.
Before: every asset on a published site was a 302 → CDN → CloudFront → S3. Three hops, nothing cached at the edge.
After: 0 redirects. Repeat asset loads 52-77 ms vs 230-270 ms. Page HTML ~2x faster. sha256 ETags, immutable caching on hashed bundles, zstd/gzip, HTTP/2.
Moved 459,293 published Playcode sites to our own static edge today - Rust, blobs in object storage, NVMe cache in front. 5.5 hours of backfill, zero downtime, rollback was one flag. Old path is now serving nothing.
