I save heaps of useful AI & automation posts, then barely come back to them.
I want to connect them to my existing workflows so "cool thing I saw" has a chance of becoming "cool thing I did". Otherwise I'm just building a well-organised pile of things I haven't done 😂
I save so much useful stuff, then barely do anything with it. Somehow my bookmarks become another thing to feel behind on.
Connecting them to my frictionless MegaMind workflow has me excited. A path from "cool thing I saw" to "cool thing I did & can share" 😁

🇺🇸 People along the Florida coast woke up to a GLOWING JELLYFISH floating across the sky from a SpaceX launch 🤩
The Falcon 9 went up before dawn from Cape Canaveral on a cargo run to the space station.
The exhaust expanded high up and caught the sunlight while the ground was still dark, forming that glowing blob with trailing streaks.
It’s a known effect on early or late launches, but this one was bright enough to light up skies from Florida to Virginia. Amazing!

Wow... Grok Voice 3.0 just dropped
And it's now the #1 speech-to-speech model in the world.
Under 1 second to respond.
It's already live in Grok Bot voice mode, Teslas, and Starlink support.
This is the closest AI voice has felt to a real person 👇

Over the last few months at @river_ai_inc we’ve developed what we believe is the best system in the world for building your own internal custom models, driven by 10 years of experience training top models at DeepMind, OpenAI and xAI.
In order to best support our customers, we’ve decided to do something radical: We also deploy our API on-prem on your compute cluster, and if you don’t have compute we will help you find it.
Again and again we’ve seen that custom models designed for your own internal workflows outperform top frontier models on performance, at a fraction of the cost (1 percent or less).
We’re just at the beginning of the custom model era, but its already clear that in the future more than 99% of LLM tokens will be generated on efficient custom models. The economics of it are just too powerful, and it’s far easier than people think once you have the right tools in place.
The reason why small models will dominate is due to the physics of deep learning: A general model that can do everything needs more capacity and training it on the whole distribution of all tasks is more challenging, so the model will be larger and more expensive, and wont perform perfectly on every task. A small model trained on a targeted domain usually outperforms it.
We were able to fine tune an open weight model (Qwen3.5-9B) on proprietary internal data at @coinbase, and it out performed frontier models, at much lower cost and speed, for a specialized task (fraud prevention in this case).
I think we'll see more of this pattern inside companies. The frontier models are amazing generalists. But increasingly you'll see specialist models out perform on more narrow tasks, either working on teams, or by themselves.
We're making it easy to fine tune models internally for our employees. We even have a skill for it in our internal harness that makes it easy to spin these up and start training them:
"/fine-tune-and-serve-llm I want to fine-tune Qwen for payments risk review. help me get started"
I imagine we'll have some backend services that could be replaced entirely by this new architecture.

Introducing Drama 3: the most emotive and controllable TTS model in the world
And yes, it's open-weight.
You can now control how even a single word should sound, change its tone, and shift your voice mid-sentence.
Uncle Roger was impressed too.

Recording device found inside OpenAI.
Employee arrested by the FBI.
How long until the labs are locked down? 👀
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.
Imagine detecting a radio flash that travelled over 10 billion years to reach Earth 📡🌌 Researchers at the University of Sydney helped trace the most distant fast radio burst ever recorded. These millisecond signals could help map invisible matter across the universe! 🔭
