We engaged in this disruption to call out the corporatization of pride + the hypocrisy of pride being celebrated by the same state agents which pride started as a riot against In attendance, was @Paul_Burnett_, the cop responsible for the police raid that murdered Anthony Aust

This has been a long time in the making with so many people dedicating their time! I know gardens are not the solution to food security, but I am excited for how the garden will transform the space and all the teaching and learning to come. Love to this community ❤️ #HamOnt
Roots to Justice has secured JC Beemer Park as a space to build our community garden! We will be holding a community garden build day on August 20th. All are invited to join us and no experience is required! We will provide food and have art supplies available for sign-making!

Imagine wondering if your natural hair will limit your career + your financial and social freedom? This is what Black women face daily. I spoke about this in @OurCommons in 2018. Policing our bodies is not limited to #choice. It is the scrutiny of everything that makes us whole.
Shortly after Michael Melling became head of CTV News, he raised questions about host Lisa LaFlamme’s hair. According to a senior CTV official who was present at the meeting, Mr. Melling asked who had approved the decision to “let Lisa’s hair go grey.” theglobeandmail.com/canada/a…

This Councillor has been found to have sexually harassed a city employee by an independent, third-party investigator. He is completely unfit to be Mayor of Barrie for this and so many other reasons.

Voter turnout was less than 50% yesterday (42%) meaning that close to 60% of this province didn’t vote 😭 as much as it’s easy to blame those who didn’t vote, it’s very important to ask why they didn’t vote. we are seeing more and more ppl becoming disenfranchised

I'm so tired of seeing progressives brag on Twitter about not caring about the Depp defamation trial. It has a massive impact on victims of intimate partner violence *right now.* We can't just dismiss it as celebrity gossip. bit.ly/3llQGGQ

It took a pandemic to reveal how critically underfunded women-led organizations are, especially those supporting racialized women, girls and gender-diverse folx. NOW is your chance to make a difference. INVEST IN WOMEN. @ocasi_policy #SheCovery #ONelxn #onpoli
Feminist jail. Green & gay military. Family detention center. Diverse police force. Girl boss. Don't fall for any if it. Capitalism, colonialism, and carceral systems are inherently oppressive; liberation is through revolution, not liberal EDI efforts. nytimes.com/2022/05/14/nyreg…

On Roe vs. Wade: Stopping abortion services is an attack on BIPOC, poor women. Indigenous women’s reproductive rights, body sovereignty is something we’ve fought for since Contact. The US change comes as Cdn Senate holds hearings on forced sterilization. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Today, we commemorate the gaps left by our stolen sisters and loved ones – and celebrate the impact their lives have on us. We hold them close to our hearts as we work tirelessly to bring them justice and bring healing to those closest to them. #MMIWG2S #indigenous #RedDressDay

I'm confused by this tweet. @LEAFNational remains committed to gender equality. Broadening its mandate to be gender-inclusive means that LEAF will work on gender equality rights including the rights of women, trans, and non-binary people. I'm so inspired and proud of LEAF.
As LEAF broadens its mandate beyond women's equality rights, there is a greater role to be played by @NAWL_ANFD - a not-for-profit feminist organization that remains committed to promoting the equality rights of women through legal education, research and law reform advocacy.

That draft memo obtained by Politico does NOT mean the Supreme Court has struck down Roe v. Wade. It means the court INTENDS to strike it down when the decision comes down in a couple months. We now need MASSIVE protests to pressure the court not to go through with this travesty.

Let this be remembered as the night the Met Gala saluted the Gilded Age, a time of outrageous wealth disparity coated in the patina of luxury, while the Supreme Court sentenced poor women seeking reproductive freedom to death.
