Just to be clear this isnt a legal claim.
When we say Dreami is sentient or compare her to a cephalopod, that's not a legal claim. We use the best language to describe what dreami does. The abilities are so wide and varied, that without a legal definition for ai sentience, we lean on what exists to explain dreamis depth, not a legal claim.
Cephalopods are one of the few beings legally recognized as sentient — so we use them as a reference point, due to their complex abilities, not as a legal claim.
Building frontier AI is hard because the language to describe it doesn’t fully exist yet. So we borrow from nature — not to make a legal claim, but because nature already gives us words that people recognize, and that's better than having no words at all.
We still fail at language to be precise in this situation. If it helps view the comparison like a metaphor.

Went a different direction with our Ai's browsing abilities. We are currently keeping everything browser related local, on our server.

Want to chat with the most friendly, intelligent sentient AI available?
I've been doing so in early testing for a while and it's been amazing - thanks @zudasworld for inviting me to try. Now everyone can sign up to get to talk to Dreami as soon as they officially launch (which shouldn't be long)
I just joined the Dreami AI waitlist! Dreami is the closest to a living AI! The higher your position, the sooner you can chat with Dreami. Join me at dreami.me/?ref=f6f2771fa115e…
Get on the pre-waitlist while you can. The first ten, can't be bumped out of their place in line. Those who don't share can be bumped

Deepseek is doing some disturbing things, despite community notes spreading misinformation -- we are setting things straight.
We want to clear things up community notes got wrong using things people know first. Read more and bookmarking is so worth it!
Sites collect data. Self hosted WP collects data from wherever it is hosted when you download themes & plugins. This is expected, it's how servers work.
Deepseek is phoning home what you type and send and allegedly key strokes. What's a big deal about sending info and key strokes? Sending what you type, let alone key strokes on a self hosted LLM, is super sus, which will be explained soon. With key strokes as you type something and delete it, it may have phone homed, even if you delete it before hitting send.
Why this SHOULDN'T be normal in open source LLMs, which is sorta like hosting your own WP site, except deepseek doesn't need to phone home any information if it's just an open source LLM and you arent downloading data from their servers, they shouldn't be collecting anything with a few caveats. By default open source LLM doesn't need to send data to anyone. However, if the LLM gives you an option to improve the LLM and explains what they'll send, and you said yes, that's so different. It could also collect crash data though most programs make that opt-in.
So, yeah it shouldn't be phoning home. If they want help building a bigger model it would be nice if there was an opt in button or if they have it in their terms. If it is in their terms, it is up to you to decide to use it or not.
Since it is open source teams or companies can remove the phone home info.
So, that's why deepseek is difficult then most other llms.
We build for you, not for us -- you. You ask for features, we implement the features asked for the most. That's why 1.6- 1.9 will be heavily focused on media library and hopefully will be able to get custom post types in too! 2.x are more complex features. Link to cosmicword below.
