oof not optimistic but maybe if enough people do that there could be a group that lets people in if they index and share a chunk of new data with everyone else in the group and we end up with some kind of patchwork historical thing to query from lots of holes but better than 0

I get it business wise but it also feels like a mistake to make the cheapest option 65/month for 3 seats just let me pay 20 a month for myself when I really want it

is there anywhere left where I can run maybe a few queries a month or is all data just pros only now
Today we are announcing that we are making the @Dune free plan view only. Meaning you can still look at all the amazing dashboards on Dune, but not run queries without a paid plan. The simple reason is that compute costs for running flexible queries over large amounts of data is very costly. We will still offer incredible value for money self-serve plans at $65 and $349 per month where you have access to vast amounts of blockchain data with completely serverless and hassle free querying. You can also try our very popular and powerful Plus plan on a 14 day trial when you sign up for a free account. For years Dune has had a very generous free plan including free compute an data access. Hundreds of thousands of users have queried blockchain data with Dune, and millions of people have been exploring the dashboards created. We know of hundreds of users that have built a data career on top of Dune, and there are likely many more. We are grateful to everyone that’s been exploring this data together with us. I’m proud and humbled that we’ve gone from @mewwts, me, some blockchain data in a postgres db and a few users in a Telegram channel, to reaching millions with the Dune platform and community. During Dune’s 8+ years in business countless data providers have come and gone. And I can tell you that what is worse than losing access to free compute is to lose your mission critical data provider all together. The reason why we’ve been able to stick around, and will keep sticking around, is because we adjust to the market. Thousands of industry leading businesses rely on Dune for their blockchain data, and they can safely keep doing that. Some have called these plan changes the end of an era. And that might be right, but I think the new era is going to be bigger and more exciting. The blockchain industry is now mature enough that businesses and financial institutions are coming onchain at a blistering pace. Dune is all in on empowering them with onchain data. During this new era Dune data will keep reaching millions of people, businesses and AIs in our mission to make onchain finance observable.

content of the proposal aside this feels like the kinda thing you should at least try to make the thread look like a person actually wrote it
🚨 New EIP: Tapered Issuance Burn We just submitted an EIP to ethereum/EIPs: a minimal, market-driven fix to Ethereum's issuance policy removing the incentive for stake growth beyond 50% of ETH supply. EIP-8361 by @pintail_xyz, @jdetychey, @dapplion, @pa7x1, @ladislaus0x & @drakefjustin 🧵

if there's no slashing and only one proposal can be live at a time can I stake 2% and then loop something to continuously clog the spot with something meaningless until people stop caring about the project

ill believe they are both doomed as ideas when I stop seeing people comment "investing in this at 5 likes" and all the RuneScape and WoW gold selling sites shut down

content coins can work just like crypto gaming stuff can work the problem with both is still building something thats framed in a way that makes speculation matter more than the product itself but making a good game or interesting new social app is hard!

trading means every asset. tokenized stocks, memes, app coins, whatever you want to trade. payments means stablecoins that work globally, for people and for enterprises. agents means accelerating all of it because crypto is native money for computers and artificial intelligence is going to create trillions of new economic actors.  and against these three pillars, builders are the backbone. If there’s one thing i’m deeply proud of since the beginning of base, alongside all the mistakes, it’s betting on builders. base is what it is because of the people who built it. not the roadmap, not the infrastructure - the builders who showed up, shipped, and kept going through every version of this, the good stretches and the hard ones. and we're going to keep backing them: Base Layer, Base Batches, the Base Ecosystem Fund, my time, my teams time, coinbase and base app distribution as much as we’re able to. we will do everything we can to make builders win on base. because when builders win, base wins. if you’ve made it this far and you couldn’t already tell: i don't have everything figured out. we try stuff, we make mistakes, and we adapt in public. the feedback, even the sharp stuff, genuinely makes us better. we see it all, and even when we can't respond to everything, it burrows its way into my brain and makes me better. so thank you.  we are building a global economy that increases innovation, creativity, and freedom. we will do this by doing the right thing, working hard, staying optimistic, pushing boundaries with creativity, and putting the team over the individual. and it’s working: with QoQ growth in dex share and payment volume, and a renewed focus on products that drive sustainable growth. hopefully we can shut up about content coins now. i was wrong and i’m sorry! (although if someone else builds content coins and they work then i’m going to lose it. and I'm also not going to just let $jesse fade away - when I launch something, I'm in it for the long term) ok thats enough typing, back to work

People who dismiss or mock CROPS properties because today’s semi-decentralized institutional chains are working well forget two things: a) governments change, and b) the current US administration has been not only friendly toward crypto, but also max-extractive. It seems pretty obvious that sooner or later, future regulators will respond with retaliatory measures. If I had to guess, they will come as low-level compliance restrictions imposed through centralized entities. Look at Europe’s MiCA and some of the recent policy ideas there for a sense of where this can go. The only real escape hatch is truly decentralized infrastructure. You can’t enforce something that is unenforceable by design. But it needs to be built now, not once those restrictions are already in place. No one will want to break something that is already working, but old-world regulators will be very keen to plug every loophole tested after the next wave of regulation. That’s why it is so important to have a truly neutral and permissionless Ethereum, and to build the structures on top of it the right way.

Funny how everyone is like yeah shut the DAO down and send the treasury to me, instead of let’s build a better DAO.

Centralization risk is about whether too much power sits in too few hands, even when each individual component looks legitimate in isolation. The whole system can depend on a small group of founders, validators, delegates, or infrastructure operators without any single component technically being centralized. The risk is structural, not individual - it emerges from the combination, not from any one part being wrong.

The risk and burden is now: 1️⃣ Operational: Subjectively vetting every request 2️⃣ Legal: Taking on the liability & responsibility with having "the power to act." I assume it costs social media companies billions to manage this. Hence Elon put it back on community notes.

you can be happy that north korea did not get $70m to fund nuclear weapons and you can also be sad that trusted human intervention was the only way to prevent them from doing so. lots to figure out and excited to see these processes get stronger, less fallible to future attacks, and be focused on user empowerment. PS: for anyone upset at the arbitrum security council, you must know that as public members holding keys, they are likely THE most in favor of decentralizing further as there is direct risk to them as individuals if this does not happen.

I think it's great that the security council stepped up and stopped NK. The interesting question is what the line will be in the future. Personally I think it will be great if crypto projects start establishing their own jurisdictions and clearly define how they make decisions like this.

Couple of questions on the Arbitrum recovery: 1) Are all future hacks on Arbitrum open to being frozen and moved to the DAO address? 2) Are past hacks eligible for fund recovery by the security council? 3) What’s the dollar cut off for the involvement of the council?
