We live and breathe AI every single day. That's why this year it it felt only right to honor World Mental Health Day by hosting an internal roundtable on staying human in the age of AI.
It turned into an hour of “oh, you feel that too?” A lot of it felt familiar to everyone: the FOMO of always being one release behind, agents asking for decisions all day, and missing the simple, almost automatic work that used to give our brains a break.
None of us have a miracle solution to juggle being so chronically online and knowing when to switch off in our personal time. But we shared some small habits worth bringing back, or building from scratch:
🚶 Lunch walks with the phone left at home
🔕 Agent notifications off, so you check in when you’re ready and not every time something pings
📚 A fixed 10 to 15 minutes in the morning for yesterday’s links
🪵 Hobbies away from screens, like cooking or woodworking
One thing @abigottealmeida said in the session seems fitting: the agents might be ready for you, but that doesn’t mean you need to be ready for them.

Most AI readiness conversations stop at a score. The more useful part is the gap between areas.
Strong Culture, weak Process? Capable people held back by workflows and missing context.
High readiness, low impact? The capability exists. It just isn't connected to outcomes yet.
Do any of these sound familiar?

Two days at @lisbonai_ , and plenty to bring back to the studio. 🇵🇹
@bmfteixeira, @lmsmonteiro , Alexandra Bigotte de Almeida and @ruisaraiva19 spent yesterday and today with some of the best builders in AI, here in Portugal.
Luís took the stage with "Design is Over." His point: building is now cheap, so judgment has become the expensive part. AI handles the half of design that can be described. The part that has to feel like something still can't be put into a prompt. 🔥
It feels great to see deep tech thriving at home. 👏

Luís Monteiro took us through his talk, "Design is Over," at our latest AI Show & Tell!
Here are the 3 takeaways we couldn't let you miss:
1️⃣ AI took the half of design that can be described. The other half, the part that has to actually feel like something, still can't be put into a prompt.
2️⃣ The process changed. Building things got cheap, so judgment became the expensive part.
3️⃣ Keep a canvas for the feeling and the identity. It's where a weird idea survives long enough to become the one that makes you stand out.

I heard a very young entrepreneur approaching someone he respected and ask about buying companies.
The older founder answered all the questions, gave suggestions, and honestly helped the young entrepreneur.
It all happened on the @pixelmatters_ office, both are part of this incredible community that @smackingg is building, Upside.
If you are a founder, check it out.
This is the most value you can get from a community.
Our Coworking Day and AI Show & Tell meetup turned into a room full of AI builders, founders, and designers, trading ideas faster than the coffee machine could keep up. ☕
This is what our events are really about.

Visiting some good old friends & clients at @rubrikInc.
@pixelmatters_ worked with Rubrik for nearly 6y and it’s wonderful to see they're thriving. Huge fan of them!
Thanks @annekagupta for hosting lunch! Loved chatting about AI and how both companies are leveraging it to win.
We're sold out for AI Show & Tell #3, but here's who's showing up next week: @lmsmonteiro (CDO, Pixelmatters) and Marco Barbosa (creator of the project Antifogo)!
It's part of a full day for Porto AI Week, kicking off with our Coworking Builders Day earlier that same day. 🔥
