I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra even had their own signature burger recipe.
Dean Martinās burger recipe was surprisingly simple: one pound of ground beef and two ounces of chilled bourbon. The instructions called for dividing the meat into four patties, seasoning them with salt, grilling them over medium-high heat for about four minutes per side, and serving the burgers on a TV tray alongside the bourbon.
Frank Sinatraās recipe took a very different approach:
āCall for Deano.
Tell him to make you a fuckinā burger.
Drink his bourbon.ā
The two recipes perfectly reflected the friendship and public personas that made Martin and Sinatra such an iconic duo. Sinatra was known as the confident leader, while Martin embraced the image of the laid-back, slightly tipsy entertainer. In reality, much of Martinās drinking reputation was part of his stage act, and the āwhiskeyā in his glass was often nothing more than apple juice.
The pair became close during the height of the Rat Pack era, performing together in Las Vegas, starring in films, and constantly trading jokes at each otherās expense. Although their friendship had its ups and downs, their chemistry never faded. Sinatraās commanding personality contrasted perfectly with Martinās easygoing demeanor, making the burger gag feel completely authentic: Sinatra gave the order, Martin did the cooking, and both enjoyed a drink.
Both recipes were published in The Celebrity Cookbook, a collection assembled by Dinah Shore and released in 1967, featuring recipes from many of the eraās biggest entertainers.

#USMNT striker Folarin Balogun on his immediate reaction to red card:
āI think it was just important to stay calm. I never want to react out of anger and out of emotion. Thereās still lots of people weāre inspiring, little kids, boys and girls who are watching, and we have to show them the correct way to handle things, even when you think it's unjust.ā
On shaking refās hand postgame:
āAs said, you can feel like something, injustice can happen to you. Itās not an excuse to be disrespectful⦠I'm aware that the World Cup might be the first time a lot of American viewers are tuning in. So it's important just to show people, whether things happen to you, good or bad, just to continue to be yourself.ā
To all of my bleeding heart liberal friends, Iām really not that big of a š hole. I just donāt like paying for them. If you can fix that for me that would be great.
