delete tiktok. watch old movies. embrace boredom. quit doomscrolling. eat without stimulation. hang out in book shops. slow your mornings down. walk without headphones. start believing in yourself. create phone boundaries. stare out the window. visualize your future. learn new skills. seek discomfort. experience life.

People are addicted to potential.
They love talking about what they could do, what they might achieve, who they will become. But potential without execution is just fantasy. Don't live in the fantasy. Execute in the present.

Never realized how spoiled I was to grow up here until I went to college in the South and met guys from Tyler Texas
Where you spawn is such a brutal dictation of who you are
Major cheat code for life: The things you're avoiding are almost always smaller than you've made them in your head. Do the thing. It's never as bad as the version you've been imagining for 3 weeks.
me thinking about what if it really happens.. xitter.cf/__Moonvibes/status/208…

Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.

The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.
So if I purchase a DVD and digitize it, that’s copyright infringement. But if an AI company buys my book and scans it to train their system, that’s perfectly fine? Once again, corporations are allowed to play by their own rules. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy.

ChatGPT CEO Sam Altman speaks about our future in San Francisco, California
“You will have no freedom, you will have no agency. It will be a perfect surveillance state. There will be no privacy. And that's what you're going to get — You'll just kind of live at the service of the AI giving you material wealth”
So they expect us to give up all privacy, all freedom, be under constant surveillance, be at the mercy of their AI at all times but in exchange we’ll have a bunch of material junk….
No thanks
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Altman was describing a dystopian scenario he explicitly fears and wants to prevent, not his vision or plan for the future. He said this as an example of AI safety "overreaction" leading to a surveillance state, and argued more founders and distributed power are the solution. techcrunch.com/2026/07/28/sam…
