I avoided WordPress for a long time, sticking with alternatives. But late last year, I started building my first WP site for a client.
A year earlier, I switched to more reliable and flexible tools, and that decision paid off. It allowed me to create proper custom Gutenberg blocks (Pinegrow for the win 🥳) and build a workflow I actually trust. While I’m still not a big fan of WordPress’ Full Site Editing (FSE), my new setup is fast, stable, and efficient.
Looking back, the past couple of years were filled with frustrating bugs and limitations in the tools I used. Hype doesn’t make a product great, real-world use does. One of my old platforms couldn’t keep up, falling behind in features and miserable stability, while the rest of the industry moved forward.
2025 is shaping up to be a great year! 😀

Pinegrow has a great license ❤️. A single user can use it on 3 machines with Mac, Windows and Linux.
I think that’s pretty good. Many move between the office and home. Some software will charge you for that privilege. 🤷♂️
