I’m sure everyone would’ve chose their family but that’s not how it works all the time. You have to stop parenting with the remnants of the relationship in mind & as parents have a common goal no matter who comes into the picture. All of these things are based on who YOU chose.
This one hits differently 😮💨
She said “co-parenting is NOT normal” with her whole chest and I felt that in my heart.
Kids packing bags every week... splitting Christmas... watching mommy turn into both the soft one and the strict one because daddy lives somewhere else... yeah, that’s not the natural design. Never was.
And the part where she goes “it makes you hard as a woman”??? Because you still gotta provide the structure and the discipline the kids need even when the other parent isn’t there full-time.
Then she gets quiet and admits sometimes she wonders if she should’ve tried harder to keep the family together. That honesty is rare.
We normalized broken homes so much that people walk into situations already planning for “I’ll just do it by myself.” Like that’s the goal.
If you still got a chance to keep your family under one roof... fight for it. Don’t let this become the new normal just because it’s common.
