Something different today!
Two Spitfires and a Messerschmitt 109 graced our runway today! ✈️
We are extremely grateful to @IWMDuxford for allowing three World War II aircraft to visit @STN_Airport to remember the D-Day landings.
Who else was fortunate enough to spot the three stunning aircraft? 👀 #DDay

How a personal connection with his grandfather's wartime RAF service is motivating warbird pilot and instructor Sam Worthington-Lees to bring the legendary Hawker Typhoon back to the skies #avgeek @project_typhoon ow.ly/ARqO50NOOzc
Wishing Bernard Gardiner a very happy 101st birthday for today.
It was an honour to have him as guest of honour at the weekend, and to facilitate him going up in the Hurricane!

We’re about to fly a 100-year-old Hurricane / Typhoon veteran in Pegs from @IWMDuxford . A very special day
A privilege to be invited on to chat with @James1940 and @almurray to talk Typhoon and our project to return one to the skies where it belongs.
What could be a better way to celebrate 600 flipping episodes of the @WeHaveWaysPod than a discussion on that beautiful beast, the Hawker Typhoon?? Love this aircraft & praying Sam Worthington-Lees and the gang at @project_typhoon get theirs back into the sky! @almurray
Awesome addition to the fleet:
Introducing Hurricane BE505 - The latest addition to our very own Aerial Collective ‘Big Wing’.
As part of an exclusive partnership with @HurricaneR4118, it feels incredibly special to be bringing the world’s only two-seat Hurricane to the skies above Duxford…
Had the privilege of meeting him, having him sign my copy of his book, and hearing him speak. Incredible aviator and human.
#OnThisDay 2016 legendary @RoyalNavy pilot Capt Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown died aged 97.Brown is RNs most decorated pilot & holds world records for most aircraft types (487) flown, most aircraft carrier take offs (2,721) & landings (2,407) & first man to land & take off jet from carrier
It’s true.
Fact of the Day: During WW1 Spitfire pilots were so confident of outmanoeuvring baddie airplanes in catfights that they painted targets on their Spitfires to encourage the baddies to try and hit them.
