Been back in the studio recording another drama I've written with BBC Audio Drama North. The big buzz I already had has been boosted and blasted to another planet because of this brilliant cast. And of course @Nadia_Molinari, @Lorna_ClaireN and the whole team!
If you're going to write something like this, it's quite fundamental to get the basics correct such as something as simple as the ACTUAL YEAR WHICH WE ARE CURRENTLY IN. Otherwise, you may, potentially, look an absolute div.
"will responsible"
"BFC Wiomen"
It feels genuinely more difficult to make these mistakes as regularly as the club do than it would be to actually proofread.
Mistakes happen, but when it's consistent it's sloppy, amateurish and symbolic of standards slipping across the club.
Lots of criticism of Alan Pace and ALK. You could say their statement announcing Nicky Hayen had left the club was short and curt, but look, it didn't have any spelling or grammatical errors, which, from Burnley FC in 2027, is the highest and rarest form of gratitude.

Burnley 22nd in the Championship, players not responding to coach Nicky Hayen, whacked 4-1 by Lincoln City, so no great surprise that Hayen sacked after 14 games (one win). But… even by football standards the club's curt 26-word dismissal statement is unnecessarily brutal (and naïve) for four reasons...
First, it’s classless towards a departing member of staff, however underachieving, so what does that say about the owners’ treatment of people? What message does it send to potential successors?
Second, Hayen was the board’s appointment. What does that say about their judgement? Nb: new technical director incoming who should understand football better than chairman Alan Pace.
Third, it highlights the mess, not least in recruitment, that Hayen stepped into. Did he have a chance? Relegated squad, sold best players (last two club POTYs Flemming & Esteve + Anthony), is there enough fight in the team?
Fourth, highlights the club’s financial problems. Burnley used to be well-run.
Board have to make the right appointment, remember Burnley are a football club as well as a business and engage better with increasingly disaffected fans. Burnley fans deserve better than what Pace and ALK Capital are giving them. #twitterclarets
With the consequences of a leveraged buyout catching up to the club, a dislikeable squad, and the Turf a cold, hostile place for customers and subscribers rather than fans and supporters, standards have slipped so that 21st and two draws against Rovers would be a success.
Being a Burnley fan I should absolutely be all for the traditionally smaller clubs doing well and it is impressive what Bournemouth have achieved, but the fact they can batter actual AC Milan just shows how distorted the Premier League has made the wider football landscape.

One of English football’s greatest venues turned into an arcade. An LED shitshow.

The irony of these comments, coming from a man who's *ONLY* silverware came directly from an owner who flooded the club with personal wealth into order to compete.
The lack of self awareness is astounding 😂

Meh. Dare I say Donnarumma has faced a more hostile atmosphere from his own fans after a contract renewal. An Argentine like Enzo Fernandez will look around him and probably think: Tame

🚨 WATCH: Andy Burnham issues a diagnosis of Britain
"The British right talk about taking back control, NEVER let them forget that they are the ones that gave it away in the first place"
Didn't watch the game today but I can guarantee these things happened -
• Hannibal waved his arms around more than he actually played football
• Hountondji and Broja didn't run
• 90% of set pieces either hit the first man or were hit too long

Absolutely fascinated to see what we do in our training sessions during the week. Does everybody have their own individual cubicle then we just meet up on match day?
I hate this. It might sound a bit "local shop for local people" but this just isn't Burnley. I'd expect to see this in Ted Lasso. It's performative and has strong whiffs of desperation about it. Maybe the sort of thing you'd see on the final day of the season, not three games in.
