previous ranking was cooked so here's the fiend quests that I liked the most: Zeth 2 > Helman 2 > Leazas 2 > Free Cities 1 > Zeth 1 > Leazas 1 (Silky) > Free Cities 2 > Leazas 1 (Hawzel) > Helman 1
even though the experience in Zeth 2 was traumatic, just making me feel that way and the catharsis I felt at the end were enough to put it in top tier. Helman 2 also shows Rance struggling, which is something I really value so overall they're two very well written quests. Leazas 2 is mostly me glazing it because I fell in love with Nimitz (Rance IV lore was amazing too). The rest are super good anyway and my take on FC 2 got a bit better over time, also Zeth 1 is spectacular because it shows a side of war that's not commonly explored: famine. Silky's plot was peak and I loved the parallels between Rance and Gai though it's a pretty short quest. Not gonna lie, I cried playing FC 1 because Lei and Mary's story is so sweet so doing the normal ending totally made up for it. that's about all I can say as someone who went in 100% spoiler free. Don't have much to say about the others but I also liked it
some people have been asking me how I'm managing to read Rance X despite being untranslated (for now), the answer is that I'm learning ζ₯ζ¬θͺ as I read. there are tons of tools/guides online like texthookers, dictionaries, yomitan, etc. Even though I have my own personal deck for mining, this pre-made deck on jpdb site is amazing and has been helping me a lot so I definitely recommend it for anyone who specifically wants to play R10
of course if you're not crazy enough like me, just wait for the official english release π
I like how all the endings so far have left me feeling defeated. It's always too late. No matter how hard humanity tries... the gods' next form of entertainment is on the way
but only one man can turn things around! and he's very horny!
would give anything for Jill to be one of Rance's women but she'd probably be the (super dangerous) jealous type like Lia
