Everytime a BIP-110 post comes across my timeline now, I find myself asking the same question - "they know perfectly well how nonsense and loaded this is, right?" They can't actually be THAT unaware, right? I am honestly unsure if I have too much faith in average intelligence, or if I just see thru the bullshit just like most people seem to.

Truly a legend in his own right. Til the last moment eh. PoW change incoming shortly?
~24 hours until signaling BIP110 becomes mandatory for Bitcoin miners. Mining blocks without signaling will then forfeit all block rewards!

Listen to this guy. Violate the ToS. Get banned (like several people I know).

I own many coldcards. MANY. I'm not sure I will ever be ready to talk about it, but the last few days I have been in a deep sorrow. I am disappointed in myself; I have audited alot of software, but something I was counting on I believed in without good reason.

And to anyone saying, "why didn't you roll dice?" Sure bud, the software could just have likely not included your dice rolls in the rng properly. But good for you for literally rolling the dice and avoiding 7, as it were.

After talking with @Princey21M in Prague, I realized Bitcoin Core v30’s OP_RETURN policy change isn’t obvious to many: it didn’t create large OP_RETURN usage, it reacted to usage that already existed by removing a gate that wasn’t actually working.

9:25PM without opening the gate is apparently "On Time" for an 8:40PM departure in @cathaypacific's world.

Everyone's mad that the beautiful places are crowded now. They think it's a tourism problem. It's a math problem. The world got richer. Hundreds of millions of people who could never afford a plane ticket can now afford the exact same plane ticket you can. That's not a tragedy. It's the largest escape from poverty in human history. But here's the part nobody wants to say out loud. The reason the crowds bother you is that you assumed money would buy you out of them. It didn't. Real wealth has always purchased one thing above everything else. Distance from other people. The empty beach. The private guide. The villa in the months nobody else knows to book. Space. So if you're standing shoulder to shoulder at the viewpoint, sweating in the same line as everyone else, taking the same photo as ten thousand other phones, the market is quietly telling you something. You're not rich enough to escape the crowd. You're rich enough to join it. That's the middle class experience. It always was. The flight, the hotel, the destination. None of it is luxury anymore. It's infrastructure. You're consuming the democratized version of something that used to be exclusive, and then acting shocked that it feels democratized. The anger was never really about the crowds. It's about being clocked. You built an identity around being someone who travels. Someone who's seen the world. Someone not like the people back home. Then you arrived. And the people back home were already there.

Love this theory. Let's run it. A sophomore builds a company out of his dorm room. Eats ramen, sleeps four hours, ships something nobody else could. A venture fund takes one look and says it's worth a billion dollars. Overnight, a kid with $40 in his account is a billionaire on paper. The campus loses its mind. One student worth a billion while everyone else drowns in loans? Student government passes a resolution. Tax him 5% a year, fund everyone's tuition. It's only 5%. He'd still be worth more than the entire graduating class combined. You don't think that's worth it? So they send him the bill. Except he doesn't have a billion dollars. He has $40 and a company a stranger guessed was worth a billion, as long as HE kept running it. To pay the tax, he has to sell. The moment he sells, the market learns the founder is cashing out to cover a tax he can't afford. The valuation collapses. The investors walk away. Now the company is dead. The twelve people he was about to hire never get hired. And the tuition fund that was supposed to come out of his billion contains exactly $40. The campus is stunned. We ran the math. Five percent of a billion is real money. Where did it go? It was never money. It was a bet on a PERSON AND THEIR IDEAS, and you cannot endlessly tax a bet without killing the thing it was betting on. How are you this stupid?
