got the main control deck to the trommel printed and wired up, and got 2 more parts printed for the tail end of the main frame. Printing one axle now. Given the size of the parts, a day per part is going to be the average here. Happy to see it coming to life, though.
Who's ready to print a 32 color trommel?
This guy. Because he doesn't have enough of one singular color to make the whole machine.
Printing has started today. We'll get that wrapped up in like, a month or so.
The trommel's officially finished! I may decide to design some sluices to go with it, but for now the main machine is done. Printing will commences as soon as Kmax is available, which should be in an hour or so. It's been one hell of a journey to get here, but we fuckin made it!
Battery door is complete. I also made the control deck and got its mounts set and its wiring routed. Last thing is to add in sluice mounts, and we are officially set to print!
Okay, got the shaker motor mount done, got the axles done, and got some basic lock lugs for the lowest frame sections. Got the conduit ran as well. Now, to finish the battery door, build the control deck, and add sluice mounts. The printening nears imminence...
I am happy to report that, with the help of a massive heat retention chamber, Kmax is now capable of printing without warping. I am NOT keeping that SOB made of lego, though, cuz it's huge. Gotta design one specifically for it after the trommel is done.
Just gonna throw this out here:
I dislike metallic PETG filaments. The finish is never smooth, and it's never anywhere near the color it is supposed to be. Silver is just gray with high gloss, and gold is goldenrod yellow without any hint of metallic sheen. They suck ass.
Don't listen to the old tale that us demons need to be invited before we can come into your home. We haven't had to ask since the invention of social media. You guys effectively signed the contract to allow us free reign.
with cautious optimism, I have put Kmax back into production. I am monitoring its progress closely, but it should manage to finish the print it has in 13 hours. We'll see how the quality holds up, and whether or not I need to fix the machine again.
Got the lower frame mostly done on the trommel. I have to make axle blocks, the battery door, shaker motor mount, sluices, and wheels still, but it's coming along.
finished brick 232 of 400+. I currently have the first 200 bricks (and the 1x3s and 1x2s) used to build a shroud for the Kmax, but they're coming along. Kmax is not contributing at the moment, due to performance concerns, so rate is a little slow, but it's coming along.
got pretty much all of the parts I should need for the trommel project, and I am finalizing the frame to add axles. I do still have a shaker motor to set up, too, and I have a door and a control station to make. I even have a pump chosen for the system, with @grok 's help.
Fun tips to share with your brothers.
@GregGuire
oh, and the spray bottle that I use for marcy decided to burst a seam while I pressurized the bottle, spraying my living room with water. At least it didnt destroy anything.
goddamned deer ate all of my sunflowers and my pea plants.
If I catch those assholes, ima fuckin eat them.
Well, the conveyor belt wasn't quite as bad as I thought it may be. Got the main panels for that made, and made a key panel that can be adjusted to fit. Next up are the motor mounts. Luckily, the motors came with schematics, so making mounts wont be too hard.
okay, I got the springs made, and got the rollers finalized so they have mounts and bearings for the conveyor. I still need motor mounts, but that shouldn't be too bad. Designing the conveyor belt is going to suck a bit, but can be done.
Makin progress, though.
