Been an AI/ML engineer for multiple multiple years now. Shifting my focus from perfecting coding to perfecting architecture has been one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Ask me why.
When we started responding to Russia’s operation against our data centers, and when our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations.
Because there were fewer bots. And it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from – if they disappeared when Yandex went offline. This proves, again and again, that Europe is not the source of the problems. Europe is not the one making everything more difficult.
Most importantly, we need people in America, every morning, when the day in Europe is already moving toward evening, to really see what is happening. To see the truth.
From a speech at the Warsaw Security Forum. (3/3)

Wilson became the first ever WNBA player to average 25 points, 50% shooting and 40% on 3-pointers. Her points per game this season ranked second-best in WNBA history -- only to her own record two years ago. She continues adding to a legendary pedigree.

Once you find a formula that works. Run the same playbook over and over and over again.

Last year, everyone wanted to become an AI engineer. Now everyone wants to become a Forward-Deployed Engineer.
The problem?
Most people are preparing for the title—not the work.
They're obsessing over frameworks, agent libraries, and whatever the frontier labs are posting about everyday.
But that's not why companies are paying FDEs $250K–$400K+.
They're paying for someone who can walk into a client, diagnose a business problem that hasn't been articulated correctly, architect the right solution, earn the trust of both engineers and executives, and own the outcome long after deployment.
That's a completely different skillset and why I wrote my newest premium issue of The Data Digest.
It's not another roadmap of "learn Python, learn LangGraph, build three projects." That's boring. obvious, and table stakes.
I created a playbook for developing the posture that makes you difficult to replace.
Inside I cover:
• What the role actually feels like day-to-day.
• The habits that separate good engineers from elite ones.
• The portfolio projects that actually signal FDE capability.
• Why governance, business fluency, and outcome engineering matter more than another framework certification.
• How to position yourself for the companies hiring these roles.
The biggest takeaway is that the tools inevitably change but your posture won't.
Choose your position.
