Until tonight I was not aware that there is a popular singer called Celeste.
Until tonight, 5 lovely women from Liverpool weren't aware that there is a French avant-garde post-hardcore, post-black metal band called Celeste.
Sadly for them I was not the one at the wrong gig.
I wonder if I'd hate Mondays less in a world without late stage capitalism, imminent environmental collapse, and ongoing persistent hatred of difference.

I am nonbinary and take hormone blockers and HRT (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) for reasons unrelated to my gender.
I recently received this letter from my GP.
TLDR: trans people deserve better than the care they are receiving under the #labour government. Hormones aren't the enemy.
But the fact that #hrt ONLY in the space of #transhealthcare is problematized means this isn't about good science and good medicine. It's about oppression and marginalisation.
#hrt and hormones are really really important, medically and culturally for lots of folx. Plenty of cis folks take hormones for a number of reasons (BIRTH CONTROL FOR EXAMPLE), and we don't bat a goddamn eyelash.
I deleted the last post because I didn't like how I said what I'm trying to get across. A redo: watching the #hrt and #transhealthcare awfulness in the UK, I am enraged that people who clearly don't understand how hormones work feel entitled to tell other people about biology.
I feel bad for all the young people who have naively assumed that letting their jeans drag on the pavement in the UK is a good idea. From many many years experience, that ice cold ankle soaker is not fun.

Replying to @PaperWhispers
Not just 1 paper, multiple papers cited by the Nobel committee AFAIK.
Besides Marie and Pierre Curie, they also awarded it to Donna Strickland (first) and Gerard Mourou (last author) for the 2018 Physics Nobel Prize.
From the outside, it is hard to understand why not here.😞

Urrrrrr...All major papers of Victor Ambros are shared with his wife Rosalind Lee....
Does the nobel committee just hate women called "Rosalind"???
Congratulations to our 2024 medicine laureate Victor Ambros ✨
This morning he celebrated the news of his prize with his colleague and wife Rosalind Lee, who was also the first author on the 1993 'Cell' paper cited by the Nobel Committee.
