Ernest Withers lived a vibrant, yet complicated life. On one hand, he was an acclaimed Civil Rights photographer whose 2 million images provided a treasured record of Black history. On the other hand, he was an FBI informant – only revealed after death. Was he a friend of the civil rights community, or enemy—or both? That is the story explored in Peabody nominated @PBS documentary, @IndependentLens: The Picture Taker. @The_PT_Film2022 peabodyawards.com/award-prof… #ErnestWithers #ThePictureTaker #PeabodyNominee #StoriesThatMatter
