The iPhone Duo’s nano texture display dramatically reduces glare and minimizes the crease but Apple’s matte display doesn’t offer the perfect blacks and richer colors of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8’s glossy OLED sceeen. Which do you prefer? #iPhoneDuo #apple #phone

Mass immigration has been a catastrophe for Europe. There is no issue more urgent before the continent than to correct this mistake.

Excellent article in the Wall Street Journal on Britain's unsustainable welfare spending: — 7 million people (over 10% of the UK population) now claim at least one or more sickness or disability benefit. This is up 60% in the past 6 years. — The UK will spend over £100 billion pound this year on sickness and disability benefits. This is projected to increase to £130 billion a year by 2030. — No other Western country has seen such a rise in disability claims. In the US, 10.6 million people claim some form of federal disability payment, despite the population being 5x larger. — 1 in 7 new cars sold in the UK are under the Motability scheme; however, only 10% of cars are modified for a disability. In one dealership, 25 out of 26 cars they sold in August were all under the Motability scheme. — Charities, consultants, YouTubers and TikTokers have all sprung up, telling people how to maximise benefit access. Some of these videos receive hundreds of thousands of views. Over 1,000 people a day are signing on for PIP. — According to a Government survey from 2024, 25% of the UK's working age population could theoretically be classed as disabled under the current criteria and access these benefits. — A minimum wage worker who works 40 hours per week would take home around £1,880 per month after tax; however, if you are classed as too sick to work and claim PIP, you can take home £2,000 tax free per month. wsj.com/world/uk/united-king…

Everyone knows why the statistics look this. Yet the same political class who allowed this, will try and destroy your life for pointing it out.

I despair. The BBC has inserted harmful trans ideology into a range of programmes, from dramas to lifestyle shows to children’s programmes. It continues to promote gender ideology despite criticism that this does not reflect reality or impartiality. And yet now the BBC is getting rid of Mitchell and Webb sketches in an Orwellian scrubbing of relatively recent comedy because they apparently “no longer work today". Who they no longer work for isn’t clear. Humourless lanyard wearers, presumably. All this on a day when there’s another article on the BBC website insisting that this generation aren’t snowflakes. You couldn’t make it up. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6jd…

Why do so many care about inheritance tax when fewer than 5% of estates pay it? Because that statistic counts the dead. Our new model counts living pensioner households instead. 20% have enough assets to face the tax. Over 50% in parts of London. Thread:

Leftist women are mad about the Sydney Sweeney sports ad because they spent years trying to rewire society into believing that obesity is the new standard of beauty, that pregnant men with beards are attractive, and that virtually anything can be appealing - we just have to want to see it. For years, they blamed traditional beauty standards on misogyny and the patriarchy, insisting that society had been conditioned to find conventionally beautiful women attractive... because men. So they desperately tried to create a new standard where no one could possibly feel excluded - setting the bar so low that everyone was considered a "10"... But now they’re being confronted with the uncomfortable reality that absolutely none of it worked. After years of lecturing society and trying to redefine attraction, human beings stubbornly continued finding pretty people... pretty. Turns out, you can tell people what they’re *supposed* to find beautiful. But ultimately, you just can’t MAKE them find it beautiful.

"I didn't mention Jason Arday because I was embarrassed at what it revealed about the left but now he's killed himself I can safely use him to virtue signal."
I never met Jason Arday, and know nothing about him beyond what I have read, seen and heard in the media. As the debate around him raged in recent weeks, I stayed out of it, precisely because it struck me as one of those occasional frenzies in which facts get lost and humans cease to be treated as humans. I now wish I had reached out to him, tried to encourage him that “this too shall pass.” Many people today, those who knew him above all but also many like me who didn’t, will be feeling sadness and anger that this has all led to his death, a family suddenly without a father, parents without a son. None of us will ever know exactly what was going through his mind, but it is hard to disagree with @MayorofLondon that Jason Arday faced “an unacceptable public hounding and campaign of abuse … pernicious public shaming that other people in his position wouldn’t have faced.” Whatever the truth of the allegations against him, would he have suffered such a hounding had he been white, with short hair? I doubt it. The zeal with which the Trumpian anti-DEI brigade in the U.K. leapt on this story to try to push back the wheel of progress towards genuine equality was horrible. Again, Sadiq is right to say “His death was a tragedy but it should be a wake-up call for all of us.” RIP Jason. And to all of us, if ever you think someone you know may have cause to be suicidal, reach out to them.
