🚨🚨🚨@MarshaBlackburn is seeking unanimous consent on KOSA today. The research on social media and teen mental health? Mixed and weak, at best. Small effects across nearly every study. Meanwhile, states that tried similar laws got over-censorship, legal limbo, and First Amendment problems. Slow down. Get the evidence right first. theamericanconsumer.org/2026…

Today the Senate will consider passing the Kids Online Safety Act by unanimous consent. My @AAF Insight from the summer explores why the knowledge standard in KOSA will inevitably lead to age verification, and what the consequences of that will be for privacy, speech, and innovation.

Always remember that the name of the bill is rarely the actual aims of the bill. KOSA requires platforms to censor stuff, much like we see in the UK right now, under the guise of protecting kids. Not only that, it requires every platform to check your ID so they can monitor everyone (bye anonymity) as that is the only way to prove you, an adult, are not a child. Check everyone. Not to mention, where implemented, these bills have been shown to not actually protect kids at all.
Today Senator Blackburn is expected to try ramming KOSA--the Kids Online Safety Act--through the Senate via unanimous consent. KOSA was an Internet censorship bill in its inception, and in 4 years the only thing its authors have done is try to disguise KOSA's nature, not fix it.

Foreign governments are threatening hundreds of American websites with jail time, right now, today, as we speak, for exercising their First Amendment rights online Why isn’t the Senate considering unanimous consent for the GRANITE Act today? Surely that’s just as urgent?
The Senate will consider unanimous consent requests for KOSA, the GUARD Act, and the NO FAKES Act today. All three serve as major threats to online speech, and all three would likely violate the First Amendment. The internet is, and should remain, a bulwark for free expression

Sen. Blumenthal calls the objections "irrelevant," saying "it's not a free speech issue...the bill focuses on design features" This is misdirection. Design features do not lead to the enumerated harms absent specific content. This has been explained repeatedly.

The fact that Senator Blumenthal is now listing specific types of problematic content directly contradicts his claim, seconds ago, that this isn't about content.

Spain just blocked Archive Today. Try to visit the web archive and many Spanish ISPs now redirect you to a government page warning: “YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCESS AN ILLEGAL WEBSITE.” It even tells users they’re “contributing to an illegal and criminal activity” simply by trying to access it. A tool used by journalists and researchers to preserve the web is now treated like contraband. The block reportedly followed a complaint from an unnamed rights holder and was imposed by Spain’s Intellectual Property Commission, not through a court ruling. That's an entire web-archiving service blocked over copyright and the complainant isn’t even public.

"Underage girls testing positive for pregnancy at detention centers." Let me fix that for you. “ICE officers are raping little girls in detention centers.” There you go.

Wait a minute, so the government LIED when they said ID age verification was created to "protect the kids?" Shocking!
Australia just released the first real data on nationwide age‑verification laws and it’s not what lawmakers promised. 🚫 Kids weren’t protected. 🚫 Parents weren’t empowered. ✅ Surveillance expanded. We broke down the findings and what they mean for U.S. families on our Substack: protectingkidsonline.substac…

ICE brutally detain 2 U.S. citizen teens—driving to hand in papers to join Marines. Now changing their minds about enlisting. "How can I serve a country that doesn't even uphold my basic rights?" Agents shot them with pepper spray—then punched them in the face. Just because they stopped to film an ICE operation arresting parents outside of a school. They were locked up for 8 hours—despite having proof they were U.S. citizens. Agent told them: "I don't give a damn... your parents can't help you now." Incident occurred near Santos Livas Elementary School in Alamo, Texas. Posting first full length English language credited video here to help raise awareness.

Dear members of the media: Stop saying “had sex with” when you’re referring to minors. Children can’t consent. “Having sex” implies consent. When an adult assaults a child, it’s rape. You’re enabling the predator class by refusing to call it what it is.
