ZIGChain is now @ZIGFinance
Capital Markets onchain. Accessible by everyone !
ZIGChain is now ZIG Finance.
Our business has grown beyond infrastructure into financial products, origination, structuring, distribution and ecosystem development, with ethereum:0xb2617246d0c6c0087f18703d576831899ca94f01 at the economic centre.
We're now building across financial products, origination, structuring, distribution, infrastructure and ecosystem development, with ethereum:0xb2617246d0c6c0087f18703d576831899ca94f01 at the economic centre.
That’s what we mean by ‘creating access’ to historically closed assets.
@LunoGlobal
Great piece on onchain lending markets .
Perfect weekend read .
Thanks for putting that together @RWA_xyz 👏
Is @token2049 worth attending?
I've been getting this question a lot. My short answer: it depends.
My key takeaways from this year:
🏛 The big boys have arrived. @FTDA_US , @DigitalAssets , Hamilton Lane and @FasanaraCapital are driving narratives across the industry, and they're here to stay.
👔 More suits than hoodies. Even OG builders have realised they can't scale in isolation.
📈 The value prop of tokenised assets is finally landing with both institutional and retail audiences.
🌍 Cross border remittance finance powered by stablecoins is establishing itself as a standout RWA category.
🔄 The industry is shifting its focus from tokenisation and issuance to distribution.
🎁 And some people only come for the merch 🤣
So, worth it? If you go with a plan and the right meetings lined up, absolutely.
It's been super effective for me and the team. But I can see how you can get lost in the sheer size of it and the endless list of side events.
Here's the thing though. Onchain finance is inherently global, and for one week most of the movers and shakers in this space are in the same city. That's a rare chance to build in person relationships with people you otherwise only work with virtually. In my opinion, that goes a long way.
The conversations have changed too. Compared to a couple of years ago, the people still building and deploying capital in onchain finance all mean business now. Refreshing.
Super excited about this one 🙌
Private credit like mGLOBAL used to be for a select few and institutions. Now it's accessible to everyone.
Bonus: it can be used as collateral for asset backed lending. A big unlock for institutional allocators.
For years, onchain yield was circular: crypto lent to crypto, backed by crypto, paid in crypto.
Today, ZIG Finance is partnering with @FasanaraCapital to change where that yield comes from.

Building
Finance has a new address.
The first tenant: cross-border payments and remittances, financed in USD1 through ZIG Markets' PayFi Vault on Concrete. Already live.
USD1 as the settlement and treasury layer. 🦅☝️

Once again EU doing what EU does best... stifling innovation.
Disappointed by the European Central Bank’s (ECB) and European Banking Authority’s (EBA) responses to the MiCA consultation.
They are not only advocating for a prohibition on paying yield on stablecoins, but also for restrictions on CASPs providing access to DeFi, including protocols offering yield on non-MiCA-authorized stablecoins, without providing a clear framework for how access to DeFi should work in practice.
They also suggest that CASPs offering access to DeFi should restrict it to certain groups of users through so-called “suitability tests,” alongside a potential certification regime for DeFi lending protocols.
It is unclear how these requirements would work in practice. If regulators determine which protocols are deemed suitable for European users, the result risks looking very different from the open DeFi that exists today.
Instead, we could end up with more walled gardens that undermine the liquidity and network effects of open financial networks, ultimately limiting Europeans’ ability to access new ways to grow and preserve wealth.
These proposals are presented as measures to “protect consumers.” But excessive restrictions can instead create more friction for innovation and slow the development of open, transparent, and auditable financial infrastructure that can benefit consumers.
The reality is that onchain finance, including stablecoins, DeFi, and tokenized securities, has the potential to reshape financial infrastructure by reducing friction, increasing transparency, and expanding access to financial opportunities.
European consumers and businesses stand to benefit significantly from this transformation, particularly if the companies building this infrastructure can continue to build and compete from within Europe.
Meanwhile, U.S. regulators, including the SEC and CFTC, have increasingly taken a more pragmatic approach toward enabling onchain financial innovation.
European regulators should put users and their interests at the center of the framework. Banks and other incumbents should be able to adapt their businesses to serve users in an increasingly onchain economy, rather than relying on artificial restrictions that risk increasing costs and reducing access for Europeans as the rest of the world moves onchain.
DeFi will win.

Cape Town Web3 folks 👋
Hosting a casual Proof of Cape: Happy Hour tonight at Kloof Street House.
I’m relatively new to Cape Town and thought it would be a good excuse to get some of the local Web3 / digital asset crowd together for a few drinks.
We’ve got around 6 spots left if anyone wants to join.
