🚨THIS LAW SHE'S STUDYING IS CONFUSING HER NOW😅😅😂 THE CONSTITUTION DIDN’T SAY “SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY” The Constitution is actually quite clear: “everyone” means everyone when it comes to the rights listed in the Bill of Rights. So when Jacinta suddenly introduce “subject to availability” as if it is written next to Section 27 and Section 29, we need to ask: where exactly is that sentence in the Constitution? 👀😂 Section 27 says everyone has the right to have access to healthcare services. Section 29 says everyone has the right to basic education. Of course, the Constitution also contains broader qualifications and duties around how certain socio-economic rights are progressively realised. But you can’t simply add words to the Constitution and present them as if they are the actual wording. If the argument is about what the law allows, quote the law. Don’t give us the “trust me bro” version of the Constitution. 😭😂 South Africans are allowed to debate immigration, healthcare, education and available resources but misrepresenting what the Constitution actually says doesn’t make the argument stronger.
