Flashback to the original London production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, which sadly closed in 2020 after nearly 34 spectacular years. Later replaced by the now downscaled tour version, with only half the orchestra and no proscenium.

With respect, how can you still experience the lavish Broadway production in all its original glory, with Maria Björnson’s sets and a full orchestra, and not wish the same for #PhantomLondon? It’s truly bizarre. Please bring back ‘The Brilliant Original’ to London!

#OnThisDay 7 months ago, @OfficialALW asked the public to note that @PhantomBway’s orchestra was “the biggest on Broadway” in this video and that it would return. #PhantomLondon's @phantomorch was also the biggest in the West End, but was cut in half with @OfficialALW’s consent.

All the best to the new cast, but it remains a total disgrace the orchestra has been decimated. So disappointed in @OfficialALW. They keep the 27-piece orchestra on Broadway. They could have done the same in London if he and @CamMackLtd really wanted it. 💔

#LloydWebber has claimed in an interview to @alexmarshall81 of the @nytimes that he is not @PhantomOpera’s producer & hence not responsible for the @phantomorch cuts. This is not true. His own website states categorically that he co-produced the production through @OfficialRUG.
