i have fics downloaded so in theory i’m good but it’s not the same, i need to open 10 new fic tabs only to reread the same fic i’ve already read five times and then after scroll through my 300 open fic tabs and reread another fic i’ve also already read five times, but i can’t 😔

i feel the same about people sharing fic downloads as them sharing fic links, it’s very lovely and flattering to me and like all the same information is included (tags, author notes, links back to work) so no context or credit is lost and it’s not just something i’ll ever mind

It’s barely been one day of ao3 down and some of yall are already starting ridiculous discourse. Ppl downloading + sharing fics when the site is down is such a lovely example of community and is functioning exactly as ao3 intended: preserving access to fics.
