At Barbacana restaurant in downtown Houston, the dry-aged duck, TX Wagyu Bavette, Masa Fries with Benton’s ham + smoked trout roe, bluefin tartine and Börek were all memorable. I went for pre-theatre dinner; next time, I’m blocking out the whole night. 🍽️

News this morning from @MichelinGuideNA: no ceremony this year for the Texas awards announcements. They will only be revealed online. Currently, 6 Houston-area restaurants hold a Michelin star: Musaafer, MARCH, Corkscrew BBQ, BCN, Tatemó and Le Jardinier.
As you will see by my photos below, Chef Brandon is really creating some wonderful dishes at @TheRainbowLodge. I highly recommend taking in a tranquil and delicious lunch over there.

I visited chef David Denis' new Bistro Mistral location in Bellaire for the $38 prix fixe weekday lunch. Each dish I had — the Zucchini & Yellow Squash Tarragon Quiche, Chicken Basquaise and Raspberry Mousse Cake — was a winner. Recommended.
