My husband was getting back from a work trip and I wanted the house to smell good when he got home so I made him this banana bread recipe.
This chocolate chip banana bread recipe has crispy edges, a soft center, and melty chocolate chips in every bite 🍫🍌
Ingredients:
-3 ripe bananas, mashed
-1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (113g)
-2 large eggs, room temp
-1/2 cup granulated sugar (105g)
-1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed (118g)
-2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (270g)
-1/2 cup sour cream (130g)
-3/4 cup chocolate chips (125g)
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-1 tsp baking soda (6g)
-1/4 tsp salt
How to bake banana bread:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F and grease a 9x5 loaf pan
2. Mash bananas until mostly smooth
3. Mix in melted butter, sugars, and eggs
4. Add sour cream and vanilla
5. In another bowl whisk flour, baking soda, and salt
6. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients (don’t overmix)
7. Fold in chocolate chips
8. Bake at 425°F for 10 mins, then reduce to 350°F and bake another 50–60 mins
9. Let banana bread cool before slicing
