Tesla just had the biggest residential Virtual Power Plant event in history.
During peak demand in California yesterday, 85,774 homes with @Tesla Powerwalls delivered 601 MW to the grid, with the total fleet peaking at a record 634 MW, roughly the output of a large utility-scale power plant.
These Powerwall owners also got paid for the energy they sent back to the grid during this event 🔋

There's an entirely new auto market being opened up by FSD.
My wife and I moved into a retirement community last year, and we were joined by my brother and his wife. Our homes are almost next door to each other. Being longtime Tesla owners, we joined the EV group that meets once a month and shares information. I offered to talk about my experience with FSD, and they were excited to hear about it. So I prepared some slides and videos, freely purloined from the great material on X.
The results were pretty astounding. The average monthly meetup usually had, perhaps, a couple of dozen people. Instead, the meeting notice talking about FSD drew a packed house of perhaps a hundred people, and we had to turn people away as the room was full.
Well, that was last quarter's meeting. This quarter's meeting was held last week, to a significantly expanded group. And what did we hear? We heard about a couple that had stopped driving, their car sitting parked because they felt too unsure of themselves to drive. After my presentation, they traded in their vehicle for a Tesla with FSD, and now they are at about 97.5% on FSD and feel that they have been liberated. When I asked "why only 97.5%," they explained that the car lost its way in their underground parking garage (they live in the apartment section of the community). I explained that they could drop a pin on their actual parking spot rather than the address, and that may solve their problem.
What struck me even more than the people who bought new Teslas after the presentation was how many seniors talked about their own FSD experience, and how many of them were achieving mid- to high-90% FSD driving. There was uniform enthusiasm for the product and for what it meant for them in their senior years.
That matters in what is rapidly becoming an aging population.

🔹 L’avion supersonique expérimental de la NASA a réalisé six vols en une seule semaine, les 22, 24 et 25 septembre, à raison de deux vols par jour. Il s’agit de son nouveau record hebdomadaire, portant à 38 le nombre total de vols d’essai.
🔹 Cette cadence soutenue permet à la NASA d’étudier son comportement à différentes vitesses, altitudes et lors de diverses manœuvres.
🔹 Le X-59 a également profité de cette semaine pour établir un nouveau record de vitesse, en atteignant Mach 1,53, soit environ 1 625 km/h. Cette performance dépasse largement sa vitesse de croisière prévue de Mach 1,4 et constitue désormais sa vitesse maximale atteinte à ce jour.
🔹 Après cette série particulièrement dense, l’appareil entre dans une période de maintenance programmée d’environ trois semaines, suivie d’une vérification complète de ses systèmes. La NASA prévoit ensuite de reprendre cette cadence d’essais à haute vitesse et de passer à la phase d’évaluation.
👉 Le X-59 doit démontrer qu’un avion supersonique peut franchir le mur du son sans provoquer le bang sonore assourdissant qui a conduit à l’interdiction du survol supersonique civil au-dessus des terres dans la plupart des pays. La réussite de ce projet Queest pourrait permettre de lever l’interdiction du supersonique civil au-dessus des continents et relancer l’industrie sur ce sujet.

ES IST ABSURD und vermutlich sogar rechtswidrig.
Ich darf meinen Tesla Model Y mit 200 km/h über die Autobahn prügeln, solange ich dabei artig auf die Tachonadel starre. Ich darf rote Ampeln als optionale Dekoration behandeln und die Strafe anschließend wie ein erwachsener Mensch selbst bezahlen. Verantwortung, Risiko, Konsequenz — alles wunderbar, solange ich es eigenhändig vermassele.
Aber sobald ein System, das ich genauso im Blick behalte, die Spur hält und bremst, wird Europa plötzlich zur besorgten Mutter. Nicht, weil ich unaufmerksam wäre. Sondern weil ich es diesmal nicht selbst falsch machen darf.
Wovor genau willst du uns schützen, Mama Europa? Vor dem Unfall, den ich mit 200 und roter Ampel offenbar selbst verdient habe?

We willen groeien, maar belasten de economie kapot. We willen meer woningen, maar belasten huurwoningen weg. We willen AI koploper zijn, maar geen datacenters. We willen voedselzekerheid en innovatieve landbouw, maar geen boeren. We willen minder regels, maar de overheid blijft maar groeien. We willen mobiliteit, maar laten onze infrastructuur verslechteren. We willen energieonafhankelijk zijn, maar geen eigen gaswinning.
En nu dreigen we met box 3, bovenop al doorgeslagen wetgeving, ook ondernemers, investeerders en cryptobedrijven weg te jagen.
Het gebrek aan visie zal deze generatie politici nog lang worden nagedragen.
