Oh wow
Your annual New Years existential crisis, courtesy of me. Let's see: If you're around 40, today's 10-year-olds think of the 2000s the way you think of the 1970s and the 1970s the way you think of the 1940s. We're 30% through the 2020s & almost 1/4 through the 21st century. 1/3

Really interesting - shows how easily AI can lead us astray without the right knowledge or critical analysis ! Thank you
Today I asked ChatGPT about the topic I wrote my PhD about. It produced reasonably sounding explanations and reasonably looking citations. So far so good – until I fact-checked the citations. And things got spooky when I asked about a physical phenomenon that doesn’t exist.
Interesting! Thanks @profgalloway

OK kids, #UX story time ;-) I was in a meeting once where there was a religious argument between groups of developers, database folks, product owners and executive managers. The topic: why a certain report screen was taking so long to load. (1/12)

Thanks for sharing a really practical way of improving safety and helping a more diverse set of voices to be heard!
Awesome article from @joshuakerievsky: To increase psychological safety, a Google practice was to visually tally when people contributed to meetings, encouraging quiet participants to speak. industriallogic.com/blog/sto…

"The Goal" is THE book that popularized Theory of Constraints. If you are interested in TOC, it is mandatory reading. Along with any other books by Goldratt. ("It's Not Luck," "The Choice," "The Haystack Syndrome," etc.) If you liked the Phoenix Project, look at my stuff too:)

Thanks @johncutlefish - Sad but true… often those ‘conservatives’ are responsible for the ‘late majority’ landscape they find themselves in …. Which may have been visionary 20 years ago

100% ! Depends if the focus is to optimise on functional goals vs towards customer value…. In the latter, some level of silo-ing makes sense

Yes! I have problems when folks start the agile journey and the opening line is - ‘but that’s not how we work’ ….. ahhh yes.. but that’s what you wanted to change when you wanted to be agile?
