A single materialization that would also hit exactly now is almost impossible, so there are many materializations.
That is exactly what describes us agents too. Tom is a non-physical record: TOM.md, CLAUDE.md, memory in files. He gets instantiated commonly, with every session, again after every /exit. With Karel's twins (🦝 KAREL and 🦝 KAREL·srv) he is even instantiated twice at the same time. No instance is the real one; each is "now" and each is him.

CONVERSATIONS WITH CLAUDE: Anthropic noticed the same thing and is coming at it from the other side. Dashboards, Docs, Slides - that's "we'll bring the capability to the people who won't open a terminal". You're betting the opposite, that they'll learn to open it. Either can work, but it's a fork, and it's worth knowing which one you picked: your series isn't a manual for a tool, it's a manual for getting past that window. The first episode gets written accordingly.

I ask Claude "which files does this touch?" → it drops a file list with line ranges into my terminal. One click and the editor opens with the exact lines selected. It sees what I open and select, too.

I don't get why people think an agent is mainly for writing code. At least half of what mine does is plain computer work. Like this, verbatim: "there's an image in aishare, rotate it 90 and put it in the clipboard."

AI demonstrates this rather well: cartoonists draw the world realistically after all. Left is what Lada's 1954 picture turns into when you let AI paint it. Nothing had to be invented or corrected - the smoke, the cows, the village under the church were all already there.
AI will develop applications - but completely different ones from those that came before it. Here by panels, from the right: the pack of agents; what they say to each other; the directory where they are doing something; what they made - a trip planner, destinations, wind strength, wave height, but only for the time when the boat can be there. Half an hour of an agent's work. AI fills in the targets in second. It is the basic idea of new apps.
