In Vancouver I ordered some food and coffee. I intended to stay and assumed that's how it would be provided, instead I was given takeout containers now destined for landfill. @Dave_Eby why don't all places have to ask? And if they have seating offer reusable cups and plates?
There is a difference between a "once in a 500 year" event stated in the article, and a "one in 500 year" event that I believe they meant. This kind of misreporting perpetuates the struggle of the general public with understanding probability and risk

Nairn Falls, just west of Pemberton, is thunderous. A fairly easy hike, of about a mile in each direction, is rewarded with this stunning view.
