The historic town hall building in the French city of Limoges has burned down completely after being set on fire by demonstrators. The country continues to face intense protests, fueled by grievances regarding the education system and rising prices. France is once again gripped by mass unrest, with approximately 800,000 people taking to the streets. The protests have rapidly escalated into rioting, as radicals set fires, launch fireworks, and attack the police. In Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Nantes, Rennes, and other cities, historic buildings and luxury boutiques have been ransacked, with looters making off with expensive jewelry and merchandise. Among the primary slogans chanted by the protesters are "Macron, get out" and "Everyone hates the police." Law enforcement has resorted to using tear gas and water cannons; around 500 people have been detained, the majority of whom are teenagers. Earlier, a government official stated that "the authorities will not be intimidated," while President Macron called for calm and vowed that the instigators would be held accountable.
