White (and some poc) queer people immediately assuming black people “must have had a homophobic or transphobic past” in response to antiblackness always reads as if they’re trying to somehow trying to excuse racism and once again shows they don’t ever consider BLACK QUEER people.

When yall make racism a quintessential part of a white teen’s coming of age, you also make it quintessential to black teen’s coming of age. “Omg she was only 15 when she said nigger”, yeah and black kids will only be 15 when they’re called that.

i was getting called the n word in high school by white high schoolers who laughed and laughed and said “it’s just a joke!” years later some of those high schoolers are now adult leftists who denounce racism. but their actions still affected me deeply and no i don’t forgive them

Happy 22nd birthday to Hanni of NewJeans!
As an Australian-born Vietnamese who travelled to Korea as a teenager and stepped onto stages that once felt far from home, she still managed to make it feel a little closer for so many people.
Her voice, both on stage and when it has mattered most, keeps reminding fans why they believe in her so deeply.
Here’s to a day full of the same genuine affection she gives out so freely, and to everything still ahead.
