Arrived in Miami to this! Took hours for taxi to find route to hotel in pouring rain. @DameWendyDBE was not happy but she is, according to the Chinese, a Water Dragon!

Ships log day 4 QM2 to NY. Force 8 gale most of today so too rough and windy to get around the ship very much. But things calmed down for dinner and we had the privilege of meeting with fellow traveller the legendary Sir John Parker and his lovely wife Emma for pre-dinner drinks

Lovely BBQ In Doha last night for QCRI Advisory Board courtesy of @akelmagarmid. It was 32C at 9pm. We had to go inside to cool off after we had eaten. Quite the opposite of BBQ’s in the UK @wooldridgemike @pecphd
We have a new pet, a panther. Found him in Barcelona. I wanted to call him Juan after Miro but as our “pet’s” names must start with the animals first letter @DameWendyDBE suggested Pi. Fine but for me it is Pi by 3 as, for Physicists, that equals “Juan” 😜
