Snaps from today's trip to the Raven Fork of the Oconaluftee River in Cherokee, NC. The Raven Fork lies just within the boundaries of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is known for its epic class 5 whitewater rapids and excellent trout fishing. Rapid name: Caveman

Fortunate to have two of my images selected for the National Paddling Film Festival still image competition! If you feel so inclined, it would mean a lot if you could vote on my images as well as all the other creative work that’s featured. Cheers! npff.org/still-image-competi… – at Athens, GA
Was finally able to get back in a boat this weekend on the Chattooga River. Here are some highlights from a beautiful high water day 🌊🛶 – at Athens, GA
In the mid 70s a group from Georgia Tech became the first paddlers to navigate the upper reaches of Little River Canyon just southwest of Chattanooga, TN. Due to the dangerous geological nature of the run (massive, sporadically placed boulders create lots of siphons in the river)
they called it the “Suicide Section.” Though boat technology and athletes have progressed and it no longer has the same infamous reputation, the name remains. Here’s what can be found at the bottom of one of Alabama’s most beautiful places—emerald water and high quality rapids. – at Powder Springs, GA
My favorite homework is when I cut and paste all the stuff on today's to-do list onto tomorrow's to-do list
"Slicey" boats are kayaks made with very little volume in the front and back, allowing the paddler to (quite literally) slice the water and do freestyle tricks. Here's part of an edit I put together of my friend Will and I slicing up the Cheoah River in Robbinsville, NC.
I put 4 spinach leaves in my pasta and ride my bike for 30 minutes then think it’s okay to eat 26 Oreos before I go to sleep every night
