Congratulations to Sox GM and former Grosse Pointe South Blue Devil Chris Getz for advancing.
From 100 losses to the ALDS in two seasons.

Bury your head in the ground at your own risk. I aim to not jump on any hype trains, but since Opus 4.6 and GPT-5.2 + the harnesses it was clear that these things can write code nearly as good as I can in my best language; better in other languages.
But we won't see non-devs push production code for a long time; possibly forever, if you ask me. Software still needs to be built in robust ways, and it's our profession to do this well, and use the new tools we have, which create new and interesting (+tough!) challenges

If you didn’t watch this happen on live tv you will simply never get it. This is what everyone was feeling as they watched this happen in real time. She put the exact words to it.
I think there’s a very strong temptation after having a meaningful and clarifying conversation with an agent to ask the agent to summarize your points. Don’t do it

The MAC now says that “replay protocol was not properly followed” in the Western Michigan-Michigan game and the league has filed a formal appeal with the NCAA FBS Oversight Committee to be recognized as the winner.
The frontier labs need to partner with MLB. There’s no better ai use case than “liking baseball”
Seeing more and more people get access to the latest models (Astra rn) and struggle to find "worthy" prompts. Lots of people defaulting to 3d models as the main test too.
I think this is a sign that a lot of us have legitimately hit our useful intelligence cap with these latest models. I simply don't face deeply technical problems day to day that Fable won't crack with enough time. My bottlenecks have moved to agency, emulating human behavior, and other softer skills. (Still lots of work to be done here)
Good code is also still a problem, but imo for reasons that aren't just raw technical intelligence.
A test for agency that I really like is asking the model to make itself useful and to justify its own intelligence. I give it a lot of context about who I am and the State in my life, and then I tell it to use its infinite intelligence to figure out the highest ROI thing it can do for me, that I might have not even thought to do.
So far no model has impressed me with its ideas.

The amount of time countless companies waste with roadmap and similar processes is crazy.
Show up every day and do your best work on the most important thing. It’s really that simple.

I have no idea what they feed @vmg but this is an unbelievable read. One of the best systems posts I’ve read. Ever. With coding being automated this is the sort of architectural clarity we need.
We're making Git hosting more reliable, performant, and scalable.
This post traces 20 years of Git infrastructure and explains how that history led us to design and operate our Git storage, Origin, as if it were a database.

These people are nuts. Paw Patrol is fundamentally anti-cop. It’s a model of inter-agency coordination where the most qualified pups perform the rescue instead of a world where we by default send armed agents of the state to all emergencies.

Could God create a BI dashboard so packed with data-driven actionable insights that even He could not schedule a meeting to touch base on improvements?

The thing about standard time is that it really doesn’t make sense in the summer. Why have the sun rise at 4:30 AM, when you can instead have the sun set an hour later?
A compromise is desirable. What if, twice a year, we just change the clocks by an hour? Anybody consider this?
