Pancreatic cancer is difficult to treat. Nano-drugs hitching a ride on bacteria could help, according to new research from @UWMadPharmacy and @WiscSurgery.

Using multiple bioinformatics techniques we evaluate the circadian clock of human pancreatic cancer - identifying clear deficits. We then use in vitro and in vivo models to evaluate these deficiencies
Thanks to our collaborators for their hard work getting this across the finish line. Looking forward to the exciting follow up studies.

Preprint from @pbschwar @UWCarbone is now published.
Chronic jetlag accelerates pancreatic neoplasia in conditional Kras-mutant mice (yeah I know 🐁 - but the trifecta of jet lag, stress and “on the road” diet isn’t helping). Also, blame fibroblasts!

To develop a deeper understanding of structural & biological mechanisms underlying health inequities in #PancreaticCancer #pancsm—✅our next paper from #CentralPancreaticConsortium examining #RacialDisparities in pathologic response to neoadjuvant tx in #PDAC @AnnSurgOncol 🧵/1 – at Florida, USA
Check out our new manuscript uploaded to @biorxivpreprint on measuring clock health in both normal human pancreas and #PDAC.
We used several bioinformatic tools to determine that clock health was diminished in PDAC compared to normal pancreas.
The Circadian Clock is Disrupted in Pancreatic Cancer biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor… #bioRxiv
We then created multiple new pancreatic cancer cell lines for evaluating the clock health in vitro and in vivo - finding that circadian disruption of PDAC tumors leads to advanced progression, decreased survival, and chemotherapeutic resistance.
Our work here will be foundational for future investigations of clock dysfunction in PDAC.
Thanks to all those that helped!
