New York’s prescription drug distribution system is broken. There is a lot about this system that needs fixing, but the biggest culprit? PBMs

@GovKathyHochul - missed the mark that MCO Rx cost based, pass through payment mandate will cost $$. 3 NYS studies - including 2 done by the state DOCUMENT NYS MCO overcharges for Rx claims. Oh - and CA just sued its largest MMC MCO over Medicaid Rx overcharge fraud. #FixRx

The year’s biggest slap in the face was the one dealt to @NY_Pharmacists by @GovKathyHochul when she went back on her word and failed to include Fee-For-Service parity in the 2023 budget. 5,300 pharmacists and 7 million Medicaid patients will remember in November. – at New York, USA

@GovKathyHochul is taking care of the Bills but not those who dispense the pills (and give vaccines) in the state budget. I guess she can tell patients to watch some football when they lose access to essential health services in their communities?

If not MMCD/ PBMs wre supposed to loose rx$ last year. Why can’t S7909 happen now & save pharmacies. Sry can’t move on when this is our survival @NY_Pharmacists @pbmslayer @NYSenatorRivera @CarlHeastie @RachelMayNY @SenGriffo @mbuttenschon_NY @HealthNYGov @GovKathyHochul

.@AssemblyRivera expressing some of the frustration members are feeling in the Capitol building as the late state budget can’t seem to be brought in for a landing.

Again, THIS ⬇️⬇️⬇️ is how New York legislators can combat the growing threat of pharmacy deserts for patients. This is the type of leadership & ally that small business owners need in their legislators. Thank you Senator @JamesSkoufis !
We need a final budget that provides fair dispensing fees to our local pharmacists, many of whom are filling prescriptions below cost and at a loss. No action = more closures, something that no one in state government should want.

@GovKathyHochul Do u know in NYS pharmacies if Rx volume ⬆️ losses ⬆️@ same rate.Pills don’t walk 2 patients,we need professionals 2 fill those.We r not even getting cost on 70% rx. Help us to help patients @DickGottfried @NeilBreslin44 @RachelMayNY @NYSenatorRivera @CarlHeastie
Forcing pharmacists to subsidize the cost of medication for their most vulnerable patient population is akin to making doctors pay to see patients that need treatment. @NY_Pharmacists have never turned their backs on patients, but how much more can they take, @GovKathyHochul? – at New York, USA
Left off the Healthcare Heroes Monument. Not classified as first responders. Ineligible for pandemic-related compensation. Expected to cover the cost of life-saving medicine for Medicaid patients because NY won't #FixRx and reimburse pharmacies for meds. @GovKathyHochul, come on!

@GovKathyHochul must keep her promise to independent pharmacies. We lose money every day keeping our patients healthy, and Fee-for-Service S7909 (Skoufis) ensures when we fill a Rx, we don't take a loss.
The Oxford community, and so many others, are on the brink of becoming a pharmacy desert without care providers like Bartles. @GovKathyHochul please don't turn a blind eye to this moment. It is about patient access to the unique care NY citizens rely on.

@GovKathyHochul we need you to include S7909 Fee-For-Service in the final state budget. After seeing one of the PBM contracts for ‘23, we are being forced to become no insurance, cash only pharmacies. Our last effort to stay open. The many rural communities we serve will suffer.

Governor Hochul, it’s Time to pass fee for service parity bill. 2500 independent pharmacies in NY. We have been working hard for our customers and this bill is far overdue to be passed. We want to continue serving our communities but we can’t without your help.
