I think people sometimes forget that posting on social media and closely following the game industry doesn’t necessarily mean you’re privy to the inner workings of multi-billion-dollar companies or the private discussions behind their decisions.
Pushing the "Kojima debunks Schreier" narrative is kind of disingenuous. Specially after reading Gene's Washington Post interview.
I asked Hideo Kojima what happened. Sony canceled Physint over a Zoom call.

Sony could've internally concluded that Physint was too expensive, had development concerns, wasn't attractive enough as an exclusive title, etc. while deciding to not communicate those reasons to Kojima during the cancellation meeting.
