For the longest time, architectural design was locked behind outdated software.
Generative AI has changed that.
Back in 2020, when we started working on @Maketplans we had a vision for what architecture and design could be.
It should be as simple as having a conversation.
Over 1.2 million signups, 8 million plans later, we have built unique context and a deep understanding of what people want to do with their space.
Building the product? That's the easy part.
Actually building a platform that works for home design with the right context, data & tooling?
That's the hard part.
Super excited to be speaking at @sxswlon about the incredible work our team has done.

Maket has launched Maket 2.0, an all-in-one AI platform for designing a new home or reworking an existing one.
Maket 2.0 lets users request an extra bedroom or a larger kitchen and quickly get a floor plan and 3D view before any architectural work begins.
> Floor plans can be generated from a short prompt, with an assistant asking about floors and rooms.
> Existing layouts can be uploaded as images or PDFs and edited in chat.
> Each room can be rendered in a wide variety of interior styles.

EXPLAINING YOUR HOME IDEAS TO AN ARCHITECT JUST GOT EASIER
That bigger kitchen makes perfect sense… in your head!
Helping everyone else picture it? That’s another story :)
@Maketplans' Maket 2.0 makes home ideas easier to explore and share.
Start from scratch or upload your floor plan, then play with:
→ An extra bedroom
→ A bigger kitchen
→ A completely new layout
→ Different ways to use your existing space
Turn “what if we changed this?” into something you can see, tweak and discuss with a professional.
Love this use of AI.
There’s something exciting about seeing fresh possibilities in a home you know.

Redesigning your home is easy in your head until you actually try to picture the whole thing 😭
Maket 2.0 lets you start with your existing floor plan and explore different layouts, rooms and ideas visually.
Bigger kitchen. Extra bedroom. Completely different layout.
Way easier than trying to picture it all in your head.

This is the AI use case nobody's talking about
Everyone's using AI to write code and emails
Meanwhile the biggest purchase most people will ever make is still planned on napkin sketches
Maket 2.0 just fixed that
- Upload the floor plan you already have
- Ask for an extra bedroom or a bigger kitchen
- Rearrange the whole layout
- See it in 3D before anyone swings a hammer
Here's why this matters:
Most people KNOW what they want in their home. They just can't explain it
So they show up to the architect with 200 saved Pinterest pins and zero idea how any of it fits together
Now you walk in with an actual plan you can point at. Conversations go 10x faster
AI is moving into the decisions people care about most. Where they live is about as personal as it gets
If you own a home or plan to build one, try this before you talk to a single designer

What if you could see your home ideas before making any changes?
With Maket 2.0, you can upload your floor plan or start from scratch and try different designs.
→ Add rooms
→ Change your kitchen
→ Try different floor plans
→ See it all in 3D
Worth checking out if you’re planning a new home or redesigning your space.

Home design is one of those things where it’s easy to know what you want to change, but surprisingly hard to visualize it.
Maket 2.0 makes that part much easier.
You can start with an existing floor plan or just an idea, explore different layouts, and actually see what could work before taking it to an architect or designer.
Being able to explore those possibilities yourself first could make home design conversations much clearer and more practical.

YOU CAN NOW UPLOAD YOUR FLOOR PLAN AND REDESIGN YOUR HOUSE BY TALKING TO IT
i just found this company that turns your current floor plan into an editable canvas:
→ add another bedroom
→ make the kitchen bigger
→ test a completely different layout
then it renders the whole thing in 3D before you move a single wall.
finally, something more useful than a folder full of dream-home screenshots.

What if you could redesign your home without having to imagine every detail in your head? 🏡
Maket 2.0 makes your ideas visual, tangible, and easier to explore

> you've been saying you need another bedroom for 3 years
> you don't even know where to start
> you upload a photo of your floor plan
> you type "add a bedroom here"
> it shows it to you in 3d
and you still haven't called anyone

🚨 HAVE YOU EVER LOVED YOUR HOME BUT HATED THE LAYOUT?
Maket just launched 2.0. you upload the floor plan you already have and ask for what you'd change.
it shows you the new version as a plan and in 3D.
→ an extra bedroom
→ a bigger kitchen
→ a whole new layout for the same space
if you can see your next home before touching a wall, why would you plan a renovation any other way?

you've wanted that extra bedroom for years. you've never sketched where it would go.
maket 2.0: upload your floor plan, type what you want changed, see it in 3d.
free to start.

The part of Maket 2.0 that interests me most is starting with the floor plan you already have.
Could the kitchen work better? Could you fit another bedroom?
Being able to visualize those ideas would make it much easier to explain what you want to an architect or designer.

Damn, I can already see myself redesigning the same room 20 times
Bigger kitchen.
Different layout.
Extra room.
Maket 2.0 lets me actually see each version.
This is the fun part of home design.
