These benchmarks on @fastly's Compute@Edge vs Cloudflare workers are seriously flawed. The biggest problem is that they conflate network round trip time with “execution at edge” time. CF is measuring cherry-picked RTT instead of edge compute performance. From their blog:
I recently wrote a post with @triblondon on the @faslty blog about the importance of the stale cache-control directives and how you can use them to reduce latency and be more resilient to failure. Let me know what you think!
Learn how to serve stale, regardless of the reliability or availability of your origin, in this blog post from @patrickhamann and @triblondon:

Right, so, personal news! I left Bulb, and I'm now available for contract work.
Technical leadership, product engineering, software architecture, cross-functional team working practices — I might be able to help.

When I first moved to the US the first thing I did on my first day of work was fill in health insurance details and it was baffling. What is the difference between deductible & co-pay, what is PPO and HMO. What does “in network mean”?
Ambulance call out? $2,500. Childbirth? $30,000.

Thank you to everyone that made it possible. Was lovely to catch up with lots of old friends and make lots of new ones.
However, now it's time to decompress with family. ✌️

Never forget what that £4.2 billion could have been spent on:
🔹840k hip replacements
🔹91k nurses
🔹91k paramedics
🔹78k doctors
🔹4200 CT scanners
🔹2100 MRI scanners
🔹12 entire NHS hospitals
What a grotesque waste of taxpayers' money. The lives that could have been saved.
A responsible government must prepare for all scenarios, which is why I have made more than £4.2bn available for EU exit planning since 2016. In the coming days, @hmtreasury will allocate a further £2bn of that money to government departments to bolster #Brexit preparations.
