Believe me that I don't exaggerate when I say this: I am thankful to be alive and hear these words said where Western audiences can hear them. This monologue is as revolutionary and meaningful as Rosa Park' refusal to move to the black people section of a bus, 71 years ago in Montgomery, Alabama. Lubna Speitan seals her place in the chronicles of the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and dignity - now followed and supported by billions of people around the world. I waited so long, so eagerly, to hear these transformative words; all of humanity did. EVery schoolboy and schoolgirl in the world need to know this
Watch this. Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists. “We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

I guess it wasnt about Hamas or the hostages after all, but always about ethnic cleansing. Who’d have known!!
Tonight in Hebron and throughout the West Bank, residents—including women and children—were evacuated from their homes. This is not what a war to eradicate terror looks like. This is what terror looks like.

🎥 “We want to go the Farage route, not the Lib Dem route.” Ashok Kumar of Greens for Palestine spoke to Novara Media about strategy behind the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion, which took a year to organize and was designed to expose Labour’s politics. He said PM Andy Burnham’s response revealed him as little different from Keir Starmer. Inspired by Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed and its “strategy of conflict,” the idea is to set the terms of debate, provoke a backlash, and heighten contradictions to force opponents to reveal positions. Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force. “We want to drag [the paradigm] to the left kicking and screaming.” @comrade_kumar_ | @novaramedia

People who attack Palestinians for choosing the poppy as a symbol should see the blooms on the remains of Burayr, a Gaza district village erased by Haganah units in 1948 its inhabitants murdered in their homes or as they fled in terror to what is now the Gaza Strip.

Remember: if Sally Rooney had said that she supports Israel's war crimes, apartheid, occupation and genocide in Gaza, her books could still be sold in Britain.
Bestselling Irish author Sally Rooney has announced that her books can no longer be sold in the UK due to the British government’s ban on Palestine Action. In a statement on Wednesday, the award-winning Normal People author said that due to her publicly-stated intention to go on supporting Palestine Action, including with royalties from her work, “the fulfilment of contracts to publish my work in the UK could now constitute a serious criminal offence”. Rooney added: “After a process of consultation and deliberation, and with my full agreement, my publisher Faber has therefore determined that it can no longer supply my work within the UK. I have made every effort to be honest with the public about my beliefs and intentions, and I am wholly prepared to accept the consequences.” Palestine Action became the first direct action group in British history to be proscribed as a terror organisation under Keir Starmer’s Labour government last summer. Palestine Action is not proscribed or otherwise banned in the Republic of Ireland, where Rooney lives. Rooney’s outspoken support for Palestine Action has previously disrupted her work in Britain. In September 2025, she was forced to cancel a trip to the UK to receive the Sky Arts award for her latest novel, 2024’s Intermezzo, due to the risk she would be arrested under the Terrorism Act. She also submitted a statement to the High Court in support of the legal challenge to Palestine Action’s proscription in November 2025, arguing that the ban impeded free expression, including cultural and artistic expression, and warning that her works could disappear from UK booksellers altogether. Faber, Rooney's UK and Ireland publisher, said: “Current legislation in the UK has led to circumstances where Faber cannot pass on UK earnings to Sally Rooney for her work. To sell a writer’s work and not be able to pass on earnings is an unconscionable situation for a publisher. “As such, and in full agreement with Sally, we have taken the decision that we can no longer supply her works in the UK in any format. We remain the proud publisher of her remarkable body of work, which we will continue to sell in other territories.” Since the ban on Palestine Action came into force, more than 3,700 people have been arrested for opposing the proscription, the vast majority for holding paper signs that read: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.” According to the Home Office’s own data, terror-related arrests have risen by 1,553% in the last year, with 94% of them linked to support for Palestine Action. Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori is challenging the proscription in the Supreme Court, beginning on 4 November.

David, are u encouraging folks to read more? Fantastic, bc John Reynolds & I wrote a book coming out on Nov 10 w @haymarketbooks to help you clear up any confusion that Zionism is, at essence, a racist & colonial ideology preceding Israel’s establishment haymarketbooks.org/books/285…
I have to say that the history of the establishment of the state of Israel as related on here by some leading supporters of the 'Zionism is racism' motion, is just a caricature. As is the version peddled by the Israeli government. I know people don't like being told that something is complicated, but this one really is very complicated.

Honestly, the erasure of Palestinian voices by the British media in the last 24 hours is something else. It is - obviously! - racism.
The media storm of the past 24 hours around the Green Party conference “Zionism is racism” motion has sidelined the voices of Palestinians – the very people who have suffered most at the hands of the Israeli state and the Zionist project that underpins it. 1/3

531 Palestinian villages and neighbourhoods were depopulated or razed to the ground between November 1947 and early 1949, amply documented. Around 750,000 Palestinians were displaced, around 12-15,000 murdered. Ben-Gurion’s own diaries show that rape by Zionist militias was widespread. I read Schama’s ‘Citizens’ as a teen and rather enjoyed it. But he is now sadly no better than a crude historical revisionist and genocide denier. Shame.
It actually was the Jewish community of the Old City that was driven out of its ancient home in May 1948. This is the pathetic level of historical ignorance ( registered with such certainty) colouring the Green vote today.
