There was a cracker review of @pathomaswriter’s Beacon (@echo_publishing) in the Weekend Oz I now discover - as I tell everyone who’ll listen, it’s so much fun this book!

Oh what lovely book mail: agent copies in of @pathomaswriter’s debut “cosy crime” novel, The Beacon, out next month from @echo_publishing! So much fun…& which reader wouldn’t want to be transported to Byron Bay & hinterland!? Glorious cover too…
A group has planted hundreds of photos in a Byron Park - appalling anti- vax propaganda. No photos of the hundreds of thousands of Australians saved by vaccination. Or our hero healthcare workers.

At Los Alamos Oppenheimer put Richard Feynman in charge of trouble shooting the various subsidiary plants. Feynman was only 26 at the time but everyone thought that maybe he was a genius. (Later he got the Nobel Prize in physics.)
Here's his funny story of a visit to Oak Ridge:

In my hands, @angeokeeffe’s divine novel The Sitter, out in Aug from @UQPbooks!
And perhaps now’s a good time too to congratulate A on her Quentin Bryce award (“awarded to one book on UQP’s list each year that celebrates women’s lives +/or gender equality”)
More solid gold to add to the TBR list, but I’d have Sean Duffy at number one and John Rebus threatening to overtake.

Deal news! Delighted to announce the sale of "The Beacon", a debut novel by @pathomaswriter, to @echo_publishing in a two-book deal! It's an immensely entertaining murder mystery set in that divine part of the world, Byron Bay & hinterland – I just loved it!
