2/2 Areas we talked about included the potential for increased business and academic exchanges; ways of engaging with Irish culture, including literature and film, in Thailand; how to get involved with the GAA here; and where to find Irish cheese, butter and potato crisps…

1/2 Delighted to join gathering of #Thai #alumni, incl graduates from Trinity, UCD, DCU, NUI Galway, NUI Maynooth and other HEIS - all so positive about their experiences in #Ireland.  This strongly validates our belief that there is demand and appetite for an #alumni network

The pleasure was all mine.  Glad to see international models and examples, including Ireland’s, being considered and discussed in the context of ongoing discussions on how politics can best serve the people.

Happy #StPatricksDay to all our friends at @BangkokPostNews Thanks for joining us at our National Day celebration, and for the coverage this weekend

Honoured to have been invited to the preview of Tom Waller’s new film, Kiss of the Con queen.  Superb film, and so relevant for the times we live in – idealistic dreamers vs cynical scammers.  See it when you can!   @dewarenne #kissoftheconqueen @IrlEmbThailand

Joined British Ambassador @MarkGooding and other colleagues at today’s #RemembranceDay wreath-laying ceremony in #Bangkok.  So awful that wars rage on, and innocent civilians continue to die, despite all the lessons of history.

was privileged to catch up recently with  some #Irish officials in leadership roles in #UN and #EU in the region;  Michelle , with ECHO, the EU humanitarian response agency; Pio, UNFPA, Gwyn, the UN RC in Bangladesh, and Michael, UNHCR.  All doing extraordinary work across APAC

I was delighted to join this excellent event. Thanks to all at @MFAThai for organising. Enjoyed a very good conversation with the DPM and Foreign Minister, and wish him well in his new role @IrlEmbThailand

Like a reunion with an old friend!  Heartfelt thanks to @BordBia and @LakelandDairies for a wonderful trip for my taste buds down memory lane through the treat of a genuine, creamy, delicious Irish 99 at the #FIAsia2023 Expo.  As they say in #Thailand…..aroy magh!!    Delicious

was delighted today to have a courtesy call with the newly-appointed #Thailand #Trade Representative, H.E. Nalinee Thavisin.  I congratulated her on being appointed by PM Srettha @Thavisin to this key role and wished her well in her assignment.

Irishman Dr. Arthur Kerr is known as the ‘Father of Thai Botany’.  I enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Bangkok Herbarium and Kasetsart University to learn more about his contribution and legacy.  My sincere thanks to Dr Pramote and all there  for hosting me

was honoured to meet Prof. Vitit Muntarbhorn, International Law expert at @chulalongkornU, and attend his special lecture on Emerging Tech and Intl Law hosted by the ISC at @MFAThai.  Really important and interesting issues highlighted.

Fáilte to our newest #EU colleague in #Thailand, Ambassador-Designate Anna Hammargren, from #Sweden Look forward to working closely with @SwedeninTH over the coming years to advance EU-Thailand ties and as we, together, #standwithUkraine. @irlembthailand

Very proud to #StandWithUkraine today, and every day. @UKRinThailand @EUinThailand @IrlEmbThailand

Excellent exchange today with #Thailand Minister for Transport, Kuhn Saksayam Chidchob and his team, discussing scope for collaboration on #connectivity issues between #Ireland, Thailand and the #EU , #sustainability agenda, #climatechange and future strategies
