Even Warren Buffet failed to beat the market in his last 20 years. Buying Index Funds that capture the whole market just makes sense!
Warren Buffett vs S&P500 over the years The last 20 years has been just keeping up with the S&P500 for Buffett

The hate Sizwe Dhlomo is getting from poor people because he has rich family Is the same hate we as South Africans receive from other Africans It’s not easy being a rich kid around hungry people.. 😭😭

Borrowing the bank money is the positive way of thinking about savings. It’s a smart way of framing it in your head and helps you save money. Do not take literally my good people🤦🏾‍♂️
My Sol inspired so many people with that interview 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾he’s so relatable, a guy next door.. I liked how he drilled into Mac G’s head to respect the law, as it stands MacG is in contempt of court for publishing that episode with Benjy. The debate about fixed deposits and him earning about 7% interest from lending banks money is quite interesting. In South Africa there are laws that govern banking institutions like the South African Reserve Bank, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) and credit as per National Credit Regulator Act. Maybe just maybe he’s got a company that’s regulated that allows him to lend banks money, the interview is too short for him to talk about all his companies…. Just maybe

Savings are important in the beginning of your investment journey, compounding takes over later on.

The older I get, the more I realise being “good with money” is mostly resisting the urge to upgrade everything. Car works? Keep it. Phone works? Keep it. House big enough? Stay put. Lifestyle creep is bloody expensive. Sometimes getting richer means leaving things alone.
